Spent a few days in a cabin in the Smoky Mountains and emerged engaged. We did a nice little hike up to Hen Wallow Falls on the "quiet side" of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park (AKA the side not by Gatlinburg). That's where I popped the question. We also visited Ruby Falls and Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. I'd never been to either.

Congrats!

Is she also a Hoosier fan? If not, does she understand what level of despair she's marrying into? :57:

If not, can I recommend some new apparel?

Gatlinburg itself can be a bit of a sh*tshow. Once you get there it's a lot of fun, if that's what you're looking for. It's a small town that has grown into a massive tourist trap but still has small-town infrastructure. I prefer to stay out in the mountains and then venture in for a day. You have to plan your timing carefully because traffic can be atrocious. This was our cabin and it was perfect for our stay. We grilled steaks and corn on the cob the first night then just chilled in the hot tub.

Heathrow seemed to be a madhouse but we got through it all quickly. Quite efficient and no TSA of course.

Drove pas the new Sphere in Vegas.  Looks small from afar, looks huge right next to it.  Perspective, huh?

They had some detours around it due to setting up for a Grand Prix race.  That would be cool, racing around Vegas like that....too bad they're going too fast to enjoy any of it.

We've kinda made a decision that we will not travel internationally for a while.

We have a chance to go to Rome and Munich next year very cheaply, but I don't think we will do it.

Surely.

We are going to Cabo in January, but we booked that 18 months ago. It's paid for.

Doesn't seem like International though. We rent a house and almost never leave it.
