Best restaurants on the San Antonio Riverwalk?

Go.
As has been stated, most of them are really touristy and not particularly good.  How many meals/recs do you need?

Just off the Riverwalk near the Alamo, there's a Yard House, which you are probably familiar with.  It's a national chain of course, but it still has the best beer selection you'll find nearby.  Food is decent for what it is.

About a mile from the Riverwalk near the "Mercado" is a Tex-Mex restaurant and bakery named "Mi Tierra" but although it is pretty touristy, it's also quite tasty.  It's pretty famous, gets really busy, but I recommend it for both the food and the experience.

Oh, and if you get a chance definitely grab a drink at the bar of the Menger Hotel, which is right next to the Alamo.  It's an old, famous bar in an old, famous hotel.  Teddy Roosevelt recruited the roughriders there, allegedly.

Thanks.

We made reservations at Biga's, which looks decent.

Only staying at the Riverwalk one night, then staying with the in-laws at their house for the rest of the trip.

Coolio, Biga looks good, definitely let us know how it is.

I'd be all over that antelope and quail dish.  Wild game is really big in South Texas.

I get photos from various National Parks on my FB feed, and Zion remains one of my favorites.

The middle of France is worth a visit, get outside Paris some.  This is a neat spot, that bridge is a canal, built over the River Loire in the late 19th century.  Napoleon was responsible for a lot of canal building (not this one) during his tenure, most of which still exist.

We're off for England tomorrow for our cruise around the island, with a stop in Northern Ireland and regular Ireland, and tours of the Loch Ness and Stonehenge (both of which I was informed are not that impressive).  Going through NYC to Gatwick, over night flight.  Then a "cab" to Southhampton for two days before departing.

I'm taking the full camera kit, not sure if I'll get any good photos of course, going to be drizzly and chilly.  For such adventures a good phone is probably enough.

Awesome!

If you have any notables in Ireland that are must-see, let me know. We're headed to Texas this week to see my wife's mom & stepdad, and one of the goals of the trip is to start planning an Ireland trip with them in 2024. About all we really plan to nail down is whether we want to do spring or fall, so even after you return we'll have plenty of time to get the details in order...

We signed up for tours off the boat, they can be decent (or not so great).  We'll see what we see, duh.  My wife is pretty excited, I'm like OK with it all.

The next cruise is going to be Japan and South Korea with 6 days in Tokyo beforehand, will be a rough flight.

Is that a canal above a river, almost like a Roman Aqueduct?

Yes, see preceding photo, it's over the Loire River.  It's still in use for pleasure boating.  You can travel pretty far in France with a boat or barge.
