Obviously, different folks prefer different places for different reasons (duh).  I see no need to belittle anyone for their personal choices.

Houston has a large Asian population and the cuisine to go along with it.  Austin has a smaller Asian population, but it's highly concentrated because of the university and all of the high tech companies that exist here, so there's some excellent Asian food here as well.

Yeah, I would expect that from Austin.

A little surprised to hear that about Houston. Was there a particular historical or cultural reason that it happened? Or is it just a matter of being a large city?

Who was belittled?

I head to Houston about annually, and I would say with the straightest of faces, Houston is only behind NYC, LA, and maybe even with Miami in terms of International flavor.  It is massively influenced by several SE Asian communities, not to mention Central, and South America.     I find a lot of Americans still equate Houston with cowboy hats, oil as only a domestic fuel source and space.

If they wanted a lush, mosquito-infested sauna where it rained every day, they would have stayed home.
Thankfully it rained on Sunday, for the first time since February.

I'd like to see more of Alaska, the real part.  In summer.

Our impression of Savannah is a bit different from this ... though it's pretty neat to sit on the Riverfront drinking a beverage and seeing some enormous cargo ship going by seemingly at arm's length.

Sitting on 85 acres at the Port of Savannah, it is the largest on-terminal intermodal facility in North America.

It's kind of a fake question.
