What a mess.  Tennessee has me quite worried.

Perhaps I haven't looked at the computer rankings but that won't be the case after Purdue/MSU/UM.Remember we're cannibalizing each other. The Ducks deserve a seat in front should they win out.Tide shouldn't be too high as they beat a 4-4 team by less than a TD
Gotta win those games first. I dunno why Oregon gets such a pass given they lost to Stanford. That's much worse than struggling with Tulsa.

33-14 record (Mullen at Florida)

The team is 4-5,  Mullen has a very solid 33-14 record at Florida, but his team is just 2-8 in its last nine games against Power Five teams, and it's clear things are trending in the wrong direction.
Coopers 1st season was the programs 1st losing season in 22 yrs and tied for 7th in the BIG - they were not bowl eligible.Next 4 seasons they lost every bowl game and were 3rd(tied),5th,3rd(tied) and 2nd in conference play.Losing 4 straight games to Michigan then tying the last. Then the asshole demanded a raise and an extension - and got it.I'm telling you the pitchforks and torches came out :41:

Well Vegas had WF dogged,so they have something on the ball.On a neutral field Ducks would be a 5 pt fav I'm guessing

Of course yes you see this-good ,but when I was discussing John Cooper with others stumbling his 1st 5 seasons you interjected nonsense.Mullen's Conference Record is better at this point than Coopers was - so give DM a break will you, for 13 seasons.Depends on whose ox is getting gored I guess ;D
I have no idea what you're talking about.

This is a generationally-bad Carolina team.  Their only SEC win before tonight was by 1 point to an especially bad Vandy.
Mullen has lost the team.
I don't care if half the team had a bad case of the flu....if most of them opted to just not play, it's because they didn't want to, not that they couldn't.

8-4 should have been a certainty, but now .500 isn't even in the bag.
I wouldn't say generationally bad because the past two years there have been BAD.

But really, that is an unforgivable loss.

I think USCe is worse than they have been in a while, they barely edged Vandy, who is as bad as I've ever seen them.  I know Florida had sick players out and playing, but this is a three TD upset.  The Gators will need to make some big moves in the off season.

OSU already has an ugly win over Tulsa, an ugly loss to Oregon, and their best win isn't as good as Cincinnati's. Why should we let OSU continue in the top 15 when their resume is worse than the Bearcats?
At a point, I don't find myself caring about this.

To actually get there, Cincy needs a constellation of outcomes. That constellation can only be visible at season's end. Today's rankings are without meaning. They could be 19th. If there aren't the right number of one-loss P5 teams (maybe with the exception of some unimpressive one-loss conference champs), then they get their spot. And if there are, they don't. Also they have to win all the games, which will be hard as all hell.

Patience is the game, projection the filler.

Agree, though it's a sign of the poindextering of the sport. A close, fun win? No, actually it's a loss. In fact, playing the game in the first place is a loss.

Who would have ever thought that there'd be a season where Notre Dame's only loss was to the Bearcats?

Almost incomprehensible.

Kind of like N'Western making the Rose Bowl in a year they lost to Miami (OH).
