Anyone else getting this way about this college football season?

I've said that all along.  I've said the Uber focus on playoff robust, has diminished my interest somewhat already, due to so many games feeling meaning. And this season has just accelerated that.  Like I'm truly not sure what any given game and actually means, probably nothing

the Huskers not being relevant since Pelini's last season in 2014 has much more to do with my passion for the game than the playoff, which I don't like and/or 2020 COVID crap

If they still made the NCAA FB videogame, the one for this year would be downright ridiculous

Maybe it's because my team keeps losing games, but any time UW gets to play, I find it meaningful. I was decidedly salty about NW and joyful about the Michigan win.

I was pissed when they lost Minnesota. Not super pissed, but I assume that's because I'm less busy and not 22 anymore.

I feel blessed in a way to get to watch my buckeyes play the 4 games that they did play because only getting to watch Justin fields and Chris Olave
For one season made me sad.

Anything from here would just be gravy. The conference title and playoff just don’t mean much to me this year.

I get it.  I can see where people feel like that, but I can honestly say I’ve been into all the games WVU has played.  I was actually really bummed the Oklahoma game was postponed this weekend.  I was really looking forward to it.  I’d also been looking at scenarios where WVU could still sneak into the Big 12 title game.  I still hope they win out and go to as good a bowl as possible and get an interesting match up. If I weren’t in to the season I guess I wouldn’t be doing those things.

The ones I feel for the most are the players, really.  For most, this was their dream, to play college football, even for Akron or whatever.  The guys playing for some Div III school work very hard at it, plus being a student.  I know the NCAA is making some accommodation, fine, but the kids lost a year, I'm not talking about the ones who will get drafted and paid.

Imagine you made the Ohio State football team as a third string tackle, how hard you work getting punished at practice, all the effort, just to run out onto the field at the Shoe 6 times a year and basically watch from the sideline.  I admire those guys, even if part of me thinks they are "dumb".

I hope they get to play some actual downs this year.

What is the status of the 85 limit next season?

It's weird that I pulled up a box score and thought, man, that's a weird line?

I mostly don't give a shit about the kid. To me, he's some vague abstraction, a backup someone else is excited about, which, whatever. I respect that it reflects his play-calling the the rest of the overrated talent piled up around him.

Hope he gets healthy and pulls it together down the line.
Yes, it is weird, because you went looking for the box score and stat line for no reason and without context- and you've been basically taking weird little shots at McNamara since he got in and lead Michigan to it's only points vs Wisconsin. Sam Webb- one of the most plugged in "reporters" into Michigan football is saying that McNamara shoulder injury is serious enough that they are shutting him down for the year and going back to Milton. Which is just another indictment on Harbaugh- if the shoulder was that bad- why play an injured player?

McNamara is infinitely better than Joe Milton. He's not a back-up. He's a starter caliber player. Joe Milton? Now that is the definition of a back-up QB. Milton probably shouldn't even be playing QB- he should be playing TE or DE. He is terrible at QB. Again- ANOTHER indictment on Harbaugh- who ran off McCaffrey and handed a terrible QB a starting QB job.

The talent is fine. The recruit rankings are pretty accurate on the whole for the most part. This is proven year after year.

The problem at Michigan is simple. It's Jim Harbaugh. Plain and simple. His players don't like him. And he's driven off very good players all because they couldn't stand him or because he plays favorites to "his guys". Joe Milton was his pet project. And Joe Milton sucks. It's clear as day and obvious to anyone with a set of eye balls.

Listen man, I don't know what to tell you about the bolded. That you find it weird that a person who likes college football would check a boxscore of a game he didn't have on a main TV and then comment on it on a college football message board says a good bit about where you're coming from and not much about where I aim. That's just what it is.

And if you think I give an ounce of a crap about how the kid cut into a 32-point lead in in the third quarter against my team, let me correct you about that misnomer right now.

And I called the kid a backup because he spent the majority of the season as a backup. That's not a shot, it's describing the world at it was. I wish him well with his new coach and look forward to Harbaugh's departure because man am I tired about all the nonsense around him. A fresh start will do the Wolverines and their fans well.

A strange thought just occurred to me.  If Minny and OSU are both out next week...

NW is scheduled to play at Minny.  OSU at MSU.  Now could NW-MSU play a rematch just 1 week after playing?  Maybe or maybe they could do a trade.

MD is scheduled to play at Mich.  Could they switch it up and have MD play at MSU instead and have NW play at Mich instead?

MD-MSU was canceled earlier this year so that's a chance to get that game in.  The question is would Michigan play along?

If a rematch was an option, I'd bet UW would've looked into throttling Illinois again.

Consider me doubtful.
