The Turtle and The Nut (SOC 10/6/23)

I just realized we have Friday night B1G football, so I am dutifully putting up a thread. It's been a week for me - my car got totaled, I have to find a new car, which is a sucky proposition in the current environment. Tomorrow, my wife is taking the fam to to Cedar Point, and I plan on not cooking, not cleaning, not moving, and not thinking. It will be video games and football all day long. In any event, give me your car recs.

Schedule

  • Nebraska at Illinois, Friday, right now, FS1
  • Maryland at #4 OSU, Saturday, noon, Fox
  • Rutgers at Wisconsin, Noon, Peacock
  • Howard at Northwestern, 3 pm, BTN
  • Purdue at Iowa, 3:30, BTN
  • #2 Michigan at Minnesota, 7:30, NBC

Others

No cooking for me, I'll be gorging at the Texas State Fair in Dallas all day tomorrow.

Unfortunately my daughter is marching at a football game tonight so we couldn't get on the road this morning like we normally would have.  So we're leaving at about 3:30 AM to be at the RV parking lot by 7, and then into the Fair by 8.

You can watch the big Texas/OU game while you’re gorging I assume.

They won't let me give blood anymore. The burnt orange color scares the hell out of the doctors.

Just grabbed a single in the Texas endzone for $300.  The market is pretty crazy this year for obvious reasons.

Also, the worm turning on Bert has been something. Hard jobs stay hard, I suppose.

Dvrd Nebraska.  Sounds like a wretched game.  Nebraska has to feel good, a game they control on the road in conference and from sounds of it, played like ass and won by 13 as a 3 pt dog.

In 2018 we paid $250 per ticket to get into RRS.  So worth it.   Loved the 10am corny dogs.

I wish Purdue at Iowa was on BTN.  Instead it's on Peacock,  which I don't have.

Peacock is only $5.99 per month and you can cancel at any time.

I hate the fact The B1G did this .  But it's still cheaper than going to a bar.  Purdue got scheduled last week vs Illinois, today vs Iowa, and next week vs Ohio State all on Peacock.  They did start streaming some games in 4K at least.
