Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key now has 5 wins over AP Top 25 ranked opponents at Georgia Tech. He's coached 22 games at Georgia Tech.

Florida State's head coach Mike Norvell has 4 wins over AP Top 25 ranked opponents at Florida State. He's coached 49 games at Florida State.

Yikes.

I'm just saying if you had to bet on who would end up in prison, at the time Moss would have been the big favorite
no doubt. Randy had plethora of off-field issues hanging over his head in HS and college.

New Mexico blew a 16 point fourth quarter lead and lost to Montana State.

I really hope the FSU fans who made the trip soaked up the sights and had a good time, because that’s a loss where it would be easy to rrreeeaaalllyyy regret the trip in the heat of the moment.

a player with his talents having to settle for what was a D2 school at the time in Marshall after getting kicked out of Notre Dame & Florida State must've been a real wake up call.

getting drafted by the Vikings certainly helped as well. Cris Carter had screwed up his life and career and was a former addict and he really turned his life around and he took Randy under his wing and really taught him how to be a pro.

That rookie Randy Moss was the most dangerous WR I think the NFL has ever seen. A 6'4" WR with that kind of speed, body control, and those insane hands was unheard of. Most talented, most unbelievable WR I have ever seen to this day, all due respect to Megatron, TO, Larry Fitz, Julio, and a few other dudes.
Dennis Green was also a big help in cutting his off-field problems down to size. Which led to exhibitions of flagrant athleticism like this one:

As a HS freshman in a Minnesota high school that fall, holy shit was it crazy to follow. Purple Pride was not just a sales pitch by Red McCombs. Which made that NFC Championship loss to the Falcons remains the worst loss in a litany of horrible losses in big spots by Minnesota sports teams.

I was thinking that a trip to Ireland followed by a tough upset loss might "reset" priorities for some fans?  OK, your team lost, but you're in Ireland, perhaps with someone you like (or at least family/wife).  Enjoy Ireland for a few days, shake it off, put it into perspective, and drink some beer.

Maybe Tech ends up being a 9-3 kind of team and the loss doesn't look so bad anyway, but if FSU goes on to lose four more games, it won't have mattered.

Santana Moss had to be other circumstances, right?  That dude could motor.

Florida's Chris Doering never makes these walk-on lists.  He started as a walk-on, but then got on scholarship.
All he did was hold the SEC career receiving TD record for 25 years.  Yawn.

With Moss, they apparently were working around scholarship stuff, so he came on as a track athlete who “walked on” for football. Some sleight of hand from Butch Davis.

and Chris can be annoying on TV. So leave him off! (I kid)

Agree to disagree he'd be in my top 5 but mindset counts.  Megatron/Larry Fitz had their heads screwed on right but didn't have the benefit of being on good/great teams.

Fitzgerald has been selected for the Pro Bowl eleven times. He is second in NFL career receiving yards, second in career receptions, and sixth in career receiving touchdowns. With the Cardinals

Johnson was noted for having a rare combination of size (6 ft 5), catching ability, speed (40-yard dash in 4.35 seconds), strength, leaping ability, and body control. In 2012, he set the NFL season record for receiving yards. Johnson is also tied with Michael Irvin for 100-yard games in a season, tied with Adam Thielen for consecutive 100-yard games, and holds the record for consecutive games with 10 or more receptions. He appeared in six consecutive Pro Bowls from 2010 to 2015 and received three consecutive first-team All-Pro selections from 2011 to 2013.

Johnson retired after the 2015 season, citing a loss of passion for the game due to health concerns and the Lions' lack of overall success during his tenure.

I'm sure Rogers would have had  field throwing to these guys. Prolly more in common with Moss though 😜
