Thanks. I always thought the X was the #1 outside guy and the Y was the #2 outside guy, with the Z as the slot.

Is it merely aligned X->Y->Z left to right?
'Tis

And the F designation is from the old fullback and the H the old halfback.  I don't remember the name of the last 'famed' H-back, but it was a guy on the Chargers before Antonio Gates.  Anyone recall?

Is it possible to use a credit card to pay the down payment on a car, and are there any reasons not to do so?

Note: I'm not asking whether I should rack up CC debt. That'd be dumb. I'll pay it off immediately.

To me, to use the CC would have two benefits... First, it would get me miles since it's a points card. Can't hate that. Second, it would allow me to not have to make semi-liquid funds liquid until I know exactly how much I'll put down and exactly when I'll buy. Primarily that second part, because if I'm waiting for the right model/feature/mileage/price to appear on the used market, and it shows up, I'd want to jump on it ASAP.

Just want to make sure it's not considered a bad idea.

Places are starting to charge 3% when you pay by card, but I'd do it anyway and get as much on the card as possible (as much as the dealer will allow). The airplane miles awarded far surpass the 3% for me.

Yup, seconded.

It's almost certain they'll charge you the 3% but it's also likely you'll still come out ahead.

I used my GM Card to put the down payment on the Vette when ordering
by the time the Vette was delivered to the dealership, I had the 5% rewards to use on the payment
