usually, if the head coach has some leverage, he wants his assistants to be paid well

My point is I think the sharps DO exploit it.
They don't have to exploit it - they just middle so across the broad spectrum of time they will win.The odds and the Vig ensure that,i used bet contrarian plays - if the masses were on one team and the line hadn't moved much bet the other way - ya still lose inthe long run. It's a rare breed of cat that can stay disciplined and win the wagering wars. Take time to chose his target sometimes weeks but they will strike and cash out

Upgrades to the indoor practice facility and Memorial Stadium will be announced before long as well. Both are much needed. Punters can't even practice in the woefully outdated Mellencamp Center (indoor facility). The restroom and pressbox situation at Memorial is long overdue for improvement. Premium suites will be coming soon as well. Right now there are private on-field tents and similar things on the terrace of the south end zone. Permanent structures will be coming.

Yeah, they usually go practice outside the Tastee Freeze.

FWIW, betting bowls is a nightmare.

My practice, on paper, is to bet the dog and take the points in every case.  In my experience, that wins about 60% of the time.

Why the Point Spread Hasn't Mattered When Betting Bowl Game Underdogs | The Action Network

Blindly betting every dog straight-up in a bowl game since 2005 has yielded a 4.3% ROI and +24
units, even after a disastrous year for underdogs in 2020.

This "trend" isn't reliable every year. It's had good ones and bad. And it in part relies on one or two big underdogs to cash each year to be profitable.

Picking every bowl underdog to cover

One of my notions is that bowl games consistently have lines that are too big.  Of course, these days nobody has much of a notion who is actually going to play anyway.  So, I'm going to try and track how many 'dogs cover (they won't all, but I'm picking them all to see if that yields a positive result).

Maybe someone can do better picking and choosing.

I see Mizzou favored over Ohio State?  Weird.  Yeah, I know.

I'll always be a Mack Brown fan, but I think he probably should have retired a year or two ago, before it came to this.

It does make me wonder though-- how many NC-winning head coaches, are currently employed as head coaches in college?

Dabo. Kirby... who else?  Mack was one, but he's gone now.  Jim, Jimbo, and Saban all left the sport after last season.

Are there any others?
