Great Post, indeed,PBS happens to be running The War a documentary on WWII and personal accounts of those who fought. The sacrifices those citizens made both private and in Government should be studied and understood by those of us today

What branch and where did he serve?

Mine is a Marine. Two tours in 'Stan. Glad he came home. One of his best buddies did not.

The kid was 50 feet or behind our son, as they were on a night patrol. He stepped on a land mine. That could have been our kid.

So thankful.
