Looked at the box score...

ND has run 12 offensive plays, and gained 157 yards... 13.1 average per play. 28.5 average in the air. "Only" averaging 7.2 on the ground. 

The Big 12 would be ashamed of Purdue's defense.

Quite bad. Purdue, despite being the "basketball on grass" team under Tiller, has a lot of sneaky-good defenses during his tenure. Some of the teams after he was gone IMHO had major offensive line problems, but Purdue, "the cradle of quarterbacks", continued to be the "den of defensive ends" with guys like Anthony Spencer, Ryan Kerrigan, and George Karlaftis. As bad as Hazell was, he somehow convinced Ja'Whaun Bentley to come to West Lafayette, who actually looked like he had the body of not just a B1G middle linebacker, but looked NFL-ready (and he was a beast for us). 

This year? I don't think we could even stop Michigan.
