can't remember the last time I was this excited about a Lions season starting. Loved that they were able to get Carlton Davis who is still only 27 years old and draft Terrion Arnold in the 1st round and then Ennis Rakestraw in the 2nd round to address the most obvious glaring weakness they had last year on defense- which was their CB's.

This seems like a make or break year for Jameson Williams. He needs to really level up and really take off and unleash that speed this year- and if he does that- the Lions are going to be fun as hell to watch.

14 of 17 games indoors too.  Considering you have to play at Chicago and at Green Bay every year, thats about as good as it gets one youve paid Goff

At least the bills really don't kick in for another 2 seasons (so probable 2 year window) but the Lions fell into the trap that teams have of bidding against themselves for a QB.

You can win w/ Goff, he's a good QB surrounded by very good and doesn't look good when surrounded by not so good (hmm its almost like this is a team sport). However IDT there is a team out there saying hey, lets give 45M+ to Goff.

I thought more Geno like contracts for the middle of the pack QBs were going to be the norm as in a hey that's 60-100M take it or risk making a lot less as a backup somewhere. IMO a big reason why you can't win w/o an elite QB is that the decent get paid as much if not more than the best.
