Revised Big Ten Football Schedule
« on: January 12, 2022, 05:23:57 PM »
On 1/11/21 I glanced at Iowa's 2022 football schedule and thought to myself, "That doesn't look the same as what I have seen before, because it had Ohio State on the road, Michigan at home, and a game against Rutgers on the road." I was right. Today there was an article that the Big Ten changed the 2022 football schedule to make up for the 2020 changes.
I can't say I blame the schedulers so much as I do this year's Iowa football team's performance in the Big Ten Championship game. They don't want Iowa in the championship game, unless Iowa really, really, really, and truly deserves to be in it. Iowa has Michigan, Ohio State, and Rutgers on the schedule.

I wonder how many people bought MSU season tickets thing they had the top two teams from each division (likely) next year, at home in OSU, UM, UW, Minnesota, just to find UM traded out for IU

Sports Radio here in Columbus was making fun of the changes saying OSU got the *ichigan treatment on the schedule. (ie. the schedule was made easier.)

And then made fun of the B1G because they also said they will make changes to future schedules as well. (Why did they release an early version then?)

Because it's a news story every time they do

Neeevvveeerrrr happening. Even though it would probably be good from a quality standpoint and a full breadth of the sport standpoint. But I can see where it would irk folks.

As a fan of a team that would be consistently in danger of relegation...

If that was the case, Texas would still be in the Big 12.

With relegation, you gotta win a lot to move up. :)

You know what?  Screw you, bastage!

(And if we actually had relegation, Texas would be in the MEAC or something by now, because we're not even winning in the B12)

YA know 94 the arrangement of LHN was very favorable to the Horns - this last venture I dunno.Texas kids may flock to the SEC progams and on occasion an opportunity to come home to see the folks.I guess the light at the end of the tunnel will be Uncle Nick has to step down sometime so they'll get their chance to crawl back into the ring. The pipeline to Norman may be severed however

Well have to enjoy the Buckeyes starting off the campaign with the opportunity to flogg ND and that fork tongue devil MF.Then tOSU has ARK ST next for hopefully what will be a ho-hum win, then the Bastages next.Amost always a slobber knocker,if they come out of that unscathed IMO they're in the top 3.The big question is will next season ever come?

I don't mind the re-rack. It means that our schedule doesn't end with 5 of the last 6 Gopher games on the road.

The only drawback is Iowa and @Wisconsin back to back at the end. I'd rather get Iowa early than late.
