There are tons of restaurants that are better than most BBQ joints.

Yeah I like some good BBQ but like...don't think it's even top 5 of genres of food I like.

In the U.S., though.  Texas places, all through the south, St. Louis,...you can't tell me there's any other kind of restaurant better than any of the top 50 BBQ joints in the country.  There's no way.

I gravitate to French, Italian and Seafood places. After that, it's steakhouse, burgers, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Spanish, German, Czech, Persian, and so on.

BBQ is down on the totem pole. Again, I appreciate it, but I don't crave it.

This could be true AND the top 50 restaurants be BBQ ones.

Idk, I live in Phoenix.

I always went to Bigfoot BBQ in Flagstaff, mostly because it was kind of hidden downstairs behind a women's clothing store.

The main issue with BBQ is that it's not that hard to make awesome BBQ at home. You don't need much specialized equipment and as long as you have a source of heat and source of smoke, you are good to go. Which is why great BBQ restaurants often operate out of gas stations and people figured out how to smoke meat in a cardboard box.

I'm pretty sure I'm hard of smelling. Not the worst sense to be short in, it certainly beats being deaf or blind. But I definitely can't smell things that other people can. Like coffee brewing, for example.

Of course there are times where it's a blessing. Like a crowded concert, or some such, where everyone around me probably smells terrible.
