My wife took me and my kids to Bacchanalia for my BDay (152nd).  Holy cow is it good, even my wife was impressed.  It isn't "French" exactly, but certainly has a lot of influence from there, and the small dishes just keep coming.  It's $125 pre fixe and worth it.  My wife insisted I order Champagne and then something nice in addition, I tried to be sensible.  Tried.

We agree we should go back once every few weeks or so.

The nice part is both my kids came down to see me.  We had two really good dinners out, and did a lot of other stuff.  I'm fairly exhausted.

I imagine every larger city has 2-3-4 equivalent, same same only different.

The trick is finding one that isn't over hyped and is consistently good.  We can get sustenance about anywhere that is OK, these places are experiences.

@ELA - Suggestions for good restaurants in Ann Arbor? We took the kids to Paesano last week and it was VERY VERY Mediocre and google reviews were good. Now, i think we are spoiled because we have a couple crazy good Italian spots by our home in NE Ohio, but I'm rarely a disappointed or picky eater and it really wasn't good. Looking for suggestions as we may try to sneak up for one more game this year since the kids can't stop talking about being at the game and wanting to go again.
