Mother Nature is putting on quite a show tonight outside the Resident Genius World Headquarters. The attached photo of the aurora borealis was taken from my driveway a few hours ago. It's very rare to see them without going well away from the Twin Cities metro to the north.

Between this and yesterday's commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, it's a very visceral reminder that Mother Nature always gets the last turn at bat.

Speaking of last ups, Saturdays game in Champaign features a game in which the winner may be the one with the ball last.

Q: How many all purpose yards will the starting QBs for Maryland and Illinois accumulate?

Deadline is Saturday, November 15 at 230pm CST. Good hunting.

Question: Does "all Purpose yards" include passing yards?
They won't let me give blood anymore. The burnt orange color scares the hell out of the doctors.

Yes.

All purpose is sum of rushing, passing, and return yards.

Doubt either QB will have return yardage, but that's part of the calculation.

I'm in a bad way following last week's disaster, so let's hope I do better this week...

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said,
but I am not sure you realize what you heard is not what I meant.  Anonymous
