COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s hockey team opened Big Ten play with a 3-2 win over Michigan Friday in Value City Arena. The No. 13 Buckeyes improve to 5-1-1 on the year, while Michigan drops to 3-3-1. The squads will close the weekend series at 5 p.m. Saturday in Columbus.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Freshman Tate Singleton’s goal with less than two minutes left in regulation gave the Ohio State men’s hockey team a 2-1 win and series sweep of Michigan Saturday in Value City Arena. Michigan had tied the game at 16:02 of the third, but Grant Gabriele set up the play that led to Singleton’s gamewinner less than three minutes later.

The No. 13 Buckeyes, on a four-game winning streak, are 6-1-1 on the year, with a 2-0-0-0 Big Ten record. Michigan falls to 3-4-1 (0-2-0-0 B1G), including a 3-2 loss Friday to Ohio State.

Finished the sweep.

The Mel Pearson thing does not appear to be going well in Ann Arbor.  Could he be out after Year 3?

I think we've always had a separate hockey thread.  Even as the conference looks back down again this year

Followed the UM sweep by going 1-0-1 against #3 ND.

4-1-1 over the past three weekends against PSU, UM, ND

Nice to actually have a real coach for the first time in 15 years

I'm not sure this one warrants its own thread anymore. Participation has been minimal for the past five years or so.

MSU continues to play well, sweeping Wisconsin at home, tied for 2nd in the Big Ten.

Seems like Danton Cole is finally getting the ship right, after back to back disastrous coaching hires.

Finished off the basketball/hockey sweep of the Badgers to move into 1st in the Big Ten.  Nice to have an actual coach again.

Apparently Michigan is finding its offense, which looked pretty bad in the few games I saw earlier in the year. It's probably too late to make the tournament, but they have risen substantially in the RPI / Pairwise rankings in the past few weeks.
