When Ohio State is challenged by Indiana, I can see why you think that way. Actually the Eastern Division is scary looking. The West -- not so much.
Depends how you look at it I guess. I had said in the pre game thread, I expected Indiana's accurate QB and talented and experienced WR group to be a tough out for OSU's all new corners.
I had said OSUs inexperienced WRs would be challenged by the most experienced defensive backfield in the conference, Indiana's.
I also pointed out that having a conference night game on the road was not easy, as it never is even well into the season. Especially against Indiana, who gave Penn State, Ohio State and Michigan fits last year.
Still, they managed to easily cover the point spread once the game settled in. So..not sure you point is valid.
I was more impressed at Rutgers apparent improvement in size and speed, Marylands overall team speed, Michigans ability to rebuild a great and super fast defense, Iowa's ability to shit down an NFL caliber QB with newish DBs, Purdue' ability to hang with a Heisman QB, Wisconsins stifling defense, and Penn States ability to look like they are in mid season form.
But I do think Indian will give some teams a tough game in their stadium. I also think Oklahoma has a great shot to take down Ohio State for the same reason.....inexperienced corners. You simply can't produce 2-3 NFL first and second rounders that many years in a row and not have it catch up with you.
