I remember the 1988 election, but not substantively. The 1992 election is the first one I had a mild grasp of. I remember begging my parents to tell me who they voted for, and finally on election night they sat me down and told me that they voted for Ross Perot, but that I could never tell anybody that, it wasn't public knowledge, and I shouldn't ask any of my friends parents who they voted for. I think topics can be debated, but nothing is ever gained from debating candidates, and I long for a day when that was private

88 was the first one I was allowed to vote on. I won. Heh.

4 years later I cost the same guy the election by voting for Perot. Heh.

Perhaps you should spend some time in A51

I've been in there, but only when Chicago or Kenosha got mentioned. Those hit close to home for me.

They are not bad guys, honestly. Just pretty set in their beliefs (both sides).

set in their beliefs just means, arguing for no apparent reason

If you're over 40 years of age, it's tough to not be set in your ways of 4 decades or 5 or going on 6

The Elder Bush may never get his due.  He wasn't "great" like a Jefferson or Washington, but he simply did his job and did nothing to disgrace the office.
