War, October, Boy, Unforgettable Fire, and Joshua Tree are all masterpieces.  Considered by many to be the best of all time.  U2 broke ground that Radiohead could never even dream of.
Problem is that so many of those albums are so much better than Achtung Baby... That one had commercial success but I don't think it compares to October, for example...

I have no real strong feelings for Dylan.  I think he's an artist where you had to be there to have the love for him.  I have no trouble loving music before my time, I just can't get into Dylan.
I'm not the world's biggest Bob Dylan fan either, and I was there, but I really deplore the Rolling Stones, for whom I was also there, so I voted for "Blood on the Tracks."  One other person voted for Dylan.  My post--in jest--was for all the guys who were sticking up for Dylan on that thread but voted for the Stones.
Where were they when Zimmy needed 'em?

Also, I get that if all you've listened to of U2 is their output since 2001, the music smacks of inconsistent dad rock. I get that and I'll be the first to admit as much. That's why by the end of the 360 tour, they were playing very little of their newer stuff.

Their 90s trifecta of Achtung Baby, Zooropa, and Pop is one of the great runs in music.
