I just like the antiquated idea of Miami winning their bowl game, and needing to root for the Irish to knock of Colorado to open the door for them.

I can't vote on this one.  I have no specific memories of these seasons, so I'll start with the next one.

Just read the other thread. For selfish reasons I voted 88. Probably the best team in WVU history.  The Miami/ND game sticks out for me that season, too. Epic game.

1988 or 1989.

My twins were born in 1988, so I took that year.

Which season we liked best?

Well both seasons appear, at least on the surface, to have been rather horrendous, as they each featured the Wolverines winning the Big Ten Title. So I'll take the year that they went onto lose the RB over the year that they won it.

1989
1919, 20, 21, 28, 29, 31, 34, 35, 36, 37, 42, 44
WWH: 1952, 54, 55, 57, 58, 60, 61, 62, 63, 65, 67, 68, 70, 72, 74, 75
1979, 81, 82, 84, 87, 94, 98
2001, 02, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19

For purposes of the OT Tourney (dating back to 2008) I have purposely never set a criteria.  If it meant a ton to you because your team did well...or it was the last game you went to with your dad before he died...or it was your senior year in the student section, or whatever.  There is no criteria.  I just set it as best college football season.  That can mean something different to everyone.

See, I remember liking Major Harris, but that's all I remember - not his actual playing.

That's a helluva "what if" for a program - the best team in its history and their best player gets hurt on like the 3rd play of the bowl game for a potential national championship.

Like when Colt McCoy got hurt vs Bama...but if Texas had the history of Texas Tech and it was their one shot.  Ugh.

I thought Switzer left after 88 season, their listless performance vs Clemson in the Citrus Bowl.

89 had a better collection of games imo, even if 1988 clearly had better elite teams and the best single game of the two seasons.   This is not easy, but I too went with the old bowl scenarios playing out as the more interesting season to me.
