And yet I'm the only one that didn't vote for it

Right or wrong, Nirvana is credited with shoving hair metal off the cliff and ushering in not only a totally different sound to R&R, but ostensibly communicating a point of view through the music which wasn't, to that point, being heard within the mainstream.

I do believe Cobain's suicide has inflated its specific impact and influence but good luck fighting that fight.   Having said that, Butch Vig is a great producer period.

Yeah, I'm no great lover of Nevermind like some people, but I certainly have to vote for it over Adele 21.

Truthfully, for me it came down to influence. Adele is a phenomenal talent, but Nirvana ushered in a new era of rock music with Nevermind. Adele didn't.

Top to bottom, 21 might be a "better" album than Nevermind, but Nevermind anchored a pivotal point in rock history.

Its as if Adele is punished for making a timeless record.   It would sound great in '78, '89, '96, '02, '12, whenever.     Nevermind has the tag, regardless of the fact that Ten was released slightly earlier, and had probably more broad success than Nirvana during that time period.

I want to see what other albums you seeded in the 90s-to-today region.

1991 was a spectacular year for music. Hell, between August 1 and the end of November the following albums hit the shelves:

-The Black Album
-Ten
-Nevermind
-Badmotorfinger
-Blood Sugar Sex Magik (the last three all on September 22)
-Ropin' the Wind
-Brand New Man
-No More Tears
-Use Your Illusion (GnR's follow-up to Appetite)
-The Sky is Crying (posthumous release after SRV's death the previous year at Alpine Valley)
-Achtung Baby
-Dangerous

That's arguably a tournament in and of itself.
