I didn't like it. I loved Mark Hamill in it though. That was cool to see Luke Skywalker again. But yeah, I really didn't like that movie. It's easily better than the ones Lucas made in the early 2000s though, so there's that going for it. But that's not saying much because those prequel movies with Hayden Christensen were terrible. So. So. So. Terrible.

I think the BTN has the option to buy back the %50 FOX invested in, they just don't get ownership willy nilly.
I'd like to see the terms if anyone can find them.

It's very divisive.  Seems like I'm on an island by thinking it's pretty good.
The more I read, the more I liked it though.  I certainly need to give it a second viewing.

i liked it, but it has issues (which all of them do, but still). as a movie, it was really good. as a part of star wars, there's several things i didn't like.

i'm taking my daughter sometime this week, so i'll get a second look at it.

i love going to movies on opening night just for the excitement around it, but i loathe actually being in the theater with that many people. especially when they're cheering and talking and yelling at the movie. one guy (thankfully not in front of me) kept standing up cheering and fist pumping in every major scene. i'd have been pissed if i was behind him.

what's our policy on spoilers? would love to discuss but don't want to ruin anything. do we want a thread of its own?

@Drew4UTk is there a hide/spoilers function here?

Yes please discuss on a separate thread.  I'm interested in Disney/Fox buyout discussions, but don't want to see talk of The Last Jedi until I've had a chance to see it (which will be in 5 days on Christmas Eve).

Thank you for your support. :)

I almost never go to the movies.

I can't get past what might have happened on the seat before I got there.

The un-showered and stinky is a deterrent for me, along with the many forms of kid germs/snots/spit.

But yeah, enjoy that.

F it Drew. We're close to the offseason and everything goes off the rails. That's a good thing.

I don't worry too much about that.  I still have kids in elementary school, the funk they bring home pretty much immunizes me to movie theater germs.
I probably go to see movies at the theater maybe 4x per year.  I like to see the really big movies there, things like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings and most of the superhero/comic book movies.  And there are usually only 3-4 of those that will come out in a year.  Everything else, I can wait for video.

If I do go, and it's generally forced by you-know-who, I bring Clorox wipes. The place has to have leather or it's no-go for me.

yessir- if i'm going to install something new on the site, i'm going to do it while i can watch if it impacts anything already running and if it conflicts- i.e. breaks the joint...
as it is- i'll be passing through Chicago somewhere around 0100~0200 if everything goes right, and with potential to be out of comms for a week or so shortly following.... i'd rather not install now but will be happy to draft something up upon return.
and... i owe you $20... those bastardos no shippy shippy, still out of stock as of this a.m....
