The Carol Burnette show kicked some ass. Talk about laughing.

I can understand that because it was essentially Jerry's role in the show. He more or less played himself, is not a great actor, and his character wasn't overly interesting.

What made the show great was Larry David. He created four anti-heros with few to no redeeming qualities, but they somehow came off as likeable. It took them a little while to find their legs, had 3-4 seasons of perfection, then waned toward the end as Kramer became a caricature and George's part became increasingly overacted. Elaine was the only character I felt was basically perfect throughout the show's run.
The first two seasons were definitely weird, with different actors playing George and Jerry's fathers. George was basically Woody Allen instead of Larry David. Kramer was essentially the Stanley Spadowski character that Michael Richards played in UHF (the Weird Al movie).

This. I loved that show in spite of a pretty bad first season and Jerry Seinfeld. It was the writing and all the situations George/Kramer/Elaine got themselves into and those three actors in particular that made the show. That's all Larry David's writing and those three actors really being terrific comedic actors.

I mean....c'mon...George quits his job and then goes back and just pretends nothing ever happened. George makes up a fake charity during christmas time to make donations in his co-workers names' as his christmas gifts to them. Shit was genius.

I dated a geologist for a while in grad school.  She had fantastic legs.  I wonder where she ended up.  She had some kind of lingering issue around her mom's death I never understood.

The correct term is "she had gneiss legs."

and all of us do.

Certainly not the best TV show ever......but I think it absolutely had the most powerful......emotional finale of any TV show.  Six Feet Under had me tearing up pretty good. The final 5-10 minute montage stands with basically any scene ever put on film....movie or television. I now know why it's commonly mentioned as one of the greatest series finales in television history. While the series may not have aged perfectly.....I am certainly glad that I invested the time to watch the entire thing. Even if just for the final payoff.

Not sure if anyone mentioned "The '70s Show" the scenes where they were in the smokey basement and the connotation was they were stoned were pretty good
