August 13th. Established in 2016, it highlights the crisp, refreshing Italian sparkling wine from the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions, offering a perfect mid-summer excuse to enjoy a chilled glass or mix up a bubbly cocktail.

Prosecco ... um, well OK.  My wife used to quaff Kirkland prosecco often, she has been on a no EtOH kick of late, which is fine with me.  I'd join her in a glass of the stuff, but it typically is too sweet and bland for me.  She prefers Champagne of course, which we have maybe once a month.  She's "OK" with the Roederer California sparkler fortunately, I can fool her with it on occasion if she doesn't see the bottle.

Her "sister friend" is wealthy and we have Crystal when we visit with her, which might happen in December.  It's good, but not nearly worth the price IMHO.

Champagne to me is bad wine with bubbles to hide the fact the grapes didn't get ripe.

My wife also enjoys the Kirkland prosecco.

I mean, she'd prefer the "good stuff", and we've got several decent bottles of French champagne and CA sparkling white wine in the wine fridge.

But those are more for special-ish occasions. Kirkland prosecco is something you can pull out of the fridge on a random Tuesday and feel fancy.

(Personally, I rarely drink bubbly drinks not made from barley. So I don't really drink any of the prosecco. But I might join her in a glass when she pulls out the good stuff.)

Same here, it's kind of enjoyable to join one's spouse in a drink of course.  I used to find some decent cavas out there, but had a run of mediocre ones and quit buying them.

I don't drink much sparkling straight but I sometimes like a nice Kir Royale aperitif, one of my French buddies in Nantes drank those before dinner pretty much every night and he got me onto them.  It's always Champagne over there but of course the flavor of the creme de cassis dominates so it doesn't much matter what sparkling wine you use as the base.

As I mentioned in the "happy" thread, we bought the stuff and I made limoncello spritz for my wife last weekend...

She enjoyed that. She wasn't as big of a fan of the Aperol spritz, I think because it's a bit bitter... But the limoncello version was great. I tasted it but then went back to my beer lol...

3 oz prosecco
2 oz limoncello
1 oz club soda / soda water

Over ice with a lemon slice.

Huge news at the distillery!! We entered three unique whiskeys into the North American Bourbon & Whiskey competition and brought home three gold medals!!
We only sent in three bottles so it's was awesome to see them all do so well!
The three whiskey expressions we chose were:

1. Nebraska Bottled in Bond Bourbon 🥃
This was awesome that we brought home a gold on this one. We planted our flag down and said we can make GREAT bourbon here in Nebraska!! And....we called it NEBRASKA. It's made with 100% Nebraska Corn, aged a minimum of 4 years and 100 proof!! A wise man once said good whiskey doesn't have to come from far away!

2. American Single Malt Bottled in Bond 🥃
American Single Malts have only recently received a distinction from the feds and a Bottled In Bond version is definitely rare. Loved that we could do so well in this category! It has tons of chocolate and coffee notes and it really drinks wildly different than bourbon and we love it!! The ASMBIB has not yet released to the public so be on the lookout for a release very soon!!

3. The Sama Port Wine Barrel Finished Bourbon is also a fairly rare expression. They are definitely out there but not in abundance so it was really a feather in our cap to be able to do so well in this unique whiskey.
Our latest version of this is in a barrel that formally held a 10 year Port from our friends at James Arthur Vineyard. Coming Soon!!

Eh. I'm not going to blame a school over that. Hell, one of my fraternity brothers was a small time dealer.

At any large college, someone's dealing. Usually that someone is a fellow student. How else do kids figure out where to get their drugs?
