Doing well, thank you. You?

Damn glad to see you back here. You've been missed for sure.
Been busy between two jobs - wish I had more time to continue revising my novel (which I've been working on for about 3 years, off and on).

The rivals/on3 team boards went the paywall route a few months ago - not worth the subscription.  I'm thankful this place is still around because most free message boards are garbage.

I said this on the SEC forum, figured I'd re-post it here too.

"Gotta say I have a ton of respect for Mateer.  That dude is tough as nails.  He was clearly hurt from the beginning, and then got further injured throughout the game.  Got zero help from his oline and RBs, but just kept on trying to make plays to win the game.

He probably shouldn't have been put in that position by his coaches, but that's a different topic."
he was 100% not ready. that is a 4 week thing from everything I read- he was back in 17 days.

And you're right, the OU OL & RBs were complete ass and they have been all season really. Hindsight is 20-20, he probably shouldn't have played but I don't fault Venables for letting him give it a shot. Their backup that Hawkins kid is truly freaking terrible. Might as well shoot the shot with Mateer and hope he can make something happen.

Honestly I was happy for Arch. He played really well and iced that game with some big time throws and runs vs an elite defense in a big-time rivalry game- hopefully all the morons in the media will lay off his back and just let the kid play from now on.

Lost in this- I was actually impressed with Michigan.

Yes, I know they did not win. But they are still maybe the most physical team I have seen yet this season.

if Justice Haynes doesn’t go down, I think the game has a different outcome because the Trojans couldn’t stop him.

And even though some of you hate Lincoln Riley give them credit as one of the best offensive minds in college football.  He figured out a way to avoid Michigan’s relentless pass, rush

I’ll put it another way. That QB is getting better each week and I don’t think anybody wants to play Michigan. I do not look forward to the November clash.
man I don't know what game you were watching.

speaking of physical play....well they just got out-physicaled by a Lincoln Riley coached team. Michigan hadn't given up 200 on the ground since the 6-season shitbag 2020 COVID season from hell.

A Lincoln Riley OL pushed Michigan's defensive front 7 off the ball and USC's backup RB's broke tackle after tackle and ran for like 240 down Michigan's throat. Still having nightmares about it.

yes Lincoln Riley is one of the best offensive minds in the game- but that still doesn't excuse that complete and utter embarrassment of a performance by that defense. their DL got pushed off the ball and their LB's and Safeties whiffed on a hundred million tackles. that isn't Michigan football. by any stretch of the imagination. And that fact that it was done to them by a Lincoln Riley team really makes you question Sharon Moore and that defensive staff.

Bryce is getting better every week and he's an enormous talent- but his head coach is a doofus and it won't matter in November....Ohio State is going to destroy this Michigan team.

Michigan's offense is bound to be inconsistent with a freshman QB and some talent problems. But the defense getting paved like that is concerning for Michigan. Another big test coming up in Washington, but at least it's at home.

when Jeem was making those 3rd base comments....who knew it was about his hand-picked successor?

Sharon Moore is 1-5 on the road, with his lone road win by 3 points and the 5 losses by an average of 11.6 points. he's basically getting blown out in every road game he plays.

don't even think it's a talent problem anymore- nobody in the conference has a better pair of RB's and McCulley and Marsh are legit WR's. McCulley can actually play and Marsh is a DUDE.

it's a coaching problem. this teams coaching staff is awful.

The other thing I see OFTEN on social media" (which tends to be about as asocial as anything in life), is the hystrionic "fire the coaches" when something goes wrong.  Some UGA posters last night were posting to clean house (usually excepting Smart) when things looked grim (and indeed they looked grim).  I always ponder whether it's the players fault, not the coaches, and realize that CFB is a "game of inches" and probabilities.  Sometimes, the probability falls on the other side, a play just doesn't work, it gets called at the wrong time, a blocker misses his assignment, any number of variables flip bad.

I understand "fandom" breeds hysteria and tantrums and over reactions, it's part of the deal, but it gets amped these days.  These are guys I don't know mostly doing their best against other guys I don't know,

I will say Auburn fans have a basis for believing the refs/league office hate them.
We're only going to see this more and more with the consolidation of teams under fewer conferences, yielding elite teams with more losses (like the NFL).  Blue-blood fans are used to winning 85% plus of their games, and losing one at the most in a given, special season.
No one pitches a fit louder than someone entitled and used to a certain level of outcomes.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

but, you know this
Cignetti's pay at Indiana, before performance bonuses is $8.3M. He could earn an additional $2.5M for 2025. The utility of the next dollar after $1M would be fairly small. He could go to Penn State, or Michigan, and become like James Franklin or Sherrone Moore, or stay at Indiana and be beloved the rest of his career.

That's what I was trying to tell you weeks ago when you were referring to the WR Room as Ass.But they along with the QB could certainly be applied more effectively :13:

how totally not predictable...a low IQ remark from a bitter loser Bucknutjob. Sike. Just kidding, totally predictable.

hey genius, maybe just maybe Jeem Harbaugh is a fucking elite coach and Sharon Moore aka Bobby Williams is nothing more than a young inexperienced assistant who is in way over his head and was only given the job to keep the roster from fleeing into the porthole and the incoming '24 class from falling apart at the seams.

Jeem took some no name small ball UofSD team from 7-4 to back to back 11-1 seasons, then goes to Stanford takes the absolute worst team in the P5 from 1-11 to 12-1 and beating Pete Carroll's USC juggernaut in LA as 42 point underdogs along the way and winning a BCS bowl in his final year, then goes to the NFL and takes over a 49ers team that hadn't been to the NFL playoffs in 10 years and takes them to 13-3, 12-4, and 12-4 records and 3 STRAIGHT NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl- then takes over a left for dead Brady Hoke Michigan program and proceeds to go 84-21 (yes I am throwing out the bullshit COVID season) over 8 normal full seasons at Michigan- he then goes back to the NFL and takes over the LA Chargers who were a 5-12 dumpster fire the year before he got there and Year 1 he has them 11-6 and in the playoffs and right now in Year 2 they are 4-2 and already beat the Chiefs and Broncos head to head and are in sole place of 1st place in the AFC West- a division the Chiefs have owned for a decade plus- and are probably going right back to the playoffs again.

Newsflash to all the morons: Jim Harbaugh is really fucking good at coaching a football team.
