He's seemed to be a solid asset so far in LA. It's it possible the Browns were the problem?
Like with everything, the answer is usually both and winning cures all.

it also probably doesn’t hurt that he’s basically all upside for the Rams. If he sucks, they just turn to someone else

He's spent his entire career on crappy teams with mediocre QB play. In 7 seasons prior to this, he's only played in 1 playoff game. If he'd stayed on the Browns, he'd be 1 playoff in 8 seasons at this point.

He's now played in 3 playoff games and he's going to the Super Bowl.

Perhaps he was a malcontent because his talents were completely wasted on teams with bad management and no shot at a title.
It's nutty that the Browns straight up just cut the dude and now have no receivers. Now all I hear on sports radio is about Baker Mayfield's feelings but supposedly OBJ was the real problem.

Win-win for me, since my rooting interest for NFL is nothing more than spotting former Tigers and hoping they have good games.  If Burrow/Chase/Shelvin/Moss win.....yay....they further cement their status as 2019 LSU legends.  If the Rams win, I'd be so happy for Whitworth finally getting a well-deserved shot, and for OBJ too.  He may be banned from campus and not the same after his injury, but he's still rightfully a fan favorite.  Interesting that the Saban/Miles/Orgeron eras will all be represented in this game.  And technically Brian Kelly has a WR in the game, so hell, I'm just gonna claim the next era is represented also.

We had the most former players on all playoff teams, which is nice because our actual team sucks and we have to find something to cheer about.  Only the Packers had no Tigers.  They lost their first game.  Coincidence?  I think not.  San Francisco lost too, probably because of having only one former Tiger.  Kansas City demoting CEH to RB2 and Mathieu barely clearing concussion protocol was the cause of the Chiefs' downfall and you cannot convince me otherwise.  Our sub-six foot kings will rise again in September, along with Darrel Williams.

But while I'm at it, Ima just leave this here:

Joe Burrow came to LSU, a QB graveyard, won a NC and had the greatest passing season in college football history.  Now the Bengals, who haven't won a playoff game in 31 years and never won one on the road have won three, two on the road against the 1 and 2 seed, and will go to a SuperBowl.

His powers are unlike anything we've ever seen.

That kicker from Florida, Evan McPherson, has ice in his veins.  Whatever the Bengals are paying him, it's not enough.

Browns didn't really have much choice. OBJ saw to it.

He basically signaled to the world that if he was traded to a team he didn't like, he might have a little injury flare-up... I.e. nobody wanted to trade for him because they'd have to pick up the remainder of his contract, but they weren't sure they'd get someone who would buy in. So the trade deadline came and went and the Browns couldn't offload his contract.

So then it was clear the two sides were going to part. OBJ and the Browns negotiated a contract change that may have helped reduce the Browns' impact but at the same time contained enough of a financial poison pill that he would be sure to clear waivers. No team wanted to pick up the contract which, again, they'd have to do [and the Browns would no longer be responsible for] if they'd claimed him.

OBJ got what he wanted--to be a true free agent, and have 100% choice in what team he would sign with. Clearly he chose a good situation.

I'm the biggest Joe Burrow lover there is outside of the city of Cincy. But...ever heard of a guy named Tom Brady?

Joe Burrow only has 9 more Super Bowl starts and 7 Super Bowl wins to go to catch him....

Baker kinda sucks. That's the real problem. He's never going to be a franchise QB. He's a JAG. Just another guy.

ABSOLUTELY,during his days in C-Bus,many off us who actually attended games  made the argument to play him in 2016.On the old CFN Board and on Buckeye Boards at that time but there is a loathing Lizard Choad that assures me I was mistaken

Barry Sanders, Calvin Johnson, and Matt Stafford played longer on much crappier franchises and teams than the whiny little bitch OBJ did. None of them ever became distractions, never pointed blame at others, were always the consummate teammates and professionals, were always the first to take all the blame when things went wrong and were always the first to give the credit to their teammates when things when right.

I don't have a whole lot of respect for OBJ. He's a diva in the mold of Terrell Owens or Randy Moss, but he's never been and never will nowhere near as good as either of those guys. He's not even in the same universe talent or production wise as those guys.

2020 he had a very good season and the Browns still had a decent passing game as DPJ definately stepped up Landry ,Njoku,Hooper even Higgins.Having a ripped up left shouder coudn't have helped. He'll be pedestrian, the O-Line had many holes to,winning cures everything

Hindsight is a beautiful thing.Maybe if injuries to the QB and the O-Line don't happen he would have kept his mouth shut and run his routes as assigned. He was popping off behind the scenes and many times running his own routes.Off course he'll behave now at least until he's not getting the throws or buried on the depth charts

But....ever heard of hyperbole, humor, and fandom?

Jeez.  I bet you're a hoot at parties.

But if we're taking it at face value, sure Brady is the GOAT, but which of his SB-appearing teams had a mediocre defense and a OL actively trying to kill him?  A Michigan fan pissing in the cornflakes trying to make sure nobody forgets the UM guy is better than whatever anybody is happy about right now.  Hmm.

Also....a Michigan fan is the biggest Burrow fan outside of Cincy?

absolutely love his game and everything he stands for. ice in his veins, clutch, tremendous leader. he's the next closest thing we've got to Tom Brady imo and wouldn't take any QB over him in the NFL right now for the next decade plus. Not even Mahomes.

Hmm....some serious OBJ haters here.

I don't keep up with him nearly as much since leaving us, but he sure holds a lot of NFL records for a guy who's not good.

On a related subject, pointing to championship rings--for anybody--is about as dumb as anything you can contrive.  Take a guy like Tom Brady...obviously a great case to be made for being the best ever.  But the margin that separates him and contemporaries like Manning and Brees are not that great, yet they only got 2 and 1 rings respectively.  There are so many other factors that it's not worth considering.  Andrew Whitworth has been perhaps the best OT in the league for 18 years, and this is the first he's ever sniffed a ring.  By this logic, Robert Horry is a greater basketball player than Michael Jordan.  More rings, bruh!
