That's the effing problem why isn't it reviewable? They have the technology not the common sense making asinine waivers like that. It's the knotheads in charge don't how to impliment it

They would need to put a camera on the kickoff line.  The TV camera was off axis towards the middle of the field.

In one article they said they were putting officials on the line. Damn after all of these yrs I thought they already had done that. I have long held the belief than any call should be reversible that could damage the credibility of the out come. Too much time is put in by players and coaches even fan viewing to botch this stuff considering the cash it brings in. It's not complicated just idiocy at the top.

Very simple solution IMO each team be given a flag for every quarter while plays are reviewed then quickly station break for sponsors. That's the crap that's dragging games to 4 hrs and beyond. Doing so would facilitate play and the advertisors/sponsers obligations would be met. How many times or long is ONE play or even injury being viewed? The audience doesn't need to wait in the dulldrums - break for a commercial then/there and meet that obligation. But no-o-o they just hover around minutes hanging in limbo before play is restarted.

That was a tough call to make from what I saw the ball was ahead of the most forward player. What wasn't clear if it made the 10 yds bouncing thru 3-4 Gopghers w/o them touching it. That's what was hard to weed thru and pick out

and still can't review it to get it right?

It's absurd they don't have the cameras. I have 14 different cameras that operate the exterior and interior of my house and technology is so advanced that it was not expensive. Them not having it, imo, is purposeful. Controversy and bad calls is good for media attention, press and people talking about it days later. It's either that or Vegas needs the intentional vagueness sometimes.

I would be a lot angrier about it had the Gophers not spotted Michigan two point-blank TDs. Take care of those and this is a very different ball game at the end.

Also, networks already have a small camera in a pylon that goes with the line-to-gain. It shouldn't be a problem to put the pylon on the 45 for a kickoff.

That's a great point!!

If i was a Gopher, i'd be pissed and would feel slighted with good reason.

Oh, I forgot one more point to add: MAKE THIS A REVIEWABLE PLAY.

I'm pissed at another special teams screw-up leading directly to a Michigan TD. Special teams has consistently been a major liability in the Fleck administration, and I see no signs of that changing anytime soon.

totally agree IT should not come down to an official making a call or not making one

The Gophers needed a couple more plays in the first half and the call would not have mattered

BUT

it was a very big call at a most inoperable time, that affected the end of the game

heck they would have still had to make a FG to tie or have DJ make another incredible catch to win the game

I wouldn't doubt it at all if those turds in a punch bowl are doing precisely that

When I saw that play the first time, I thought it was offside. But as it replayed over and over, I came to the belief even with grainy video it was not offside, and it was certainly too close to call it so.
As for the previous post, I could be wrong, but they already have an official on the 35-yard "restraining line." Now there will be two officials on that line eyeballing from each direction, and then they can have a "conference" if one decides there was an offsides issue.
This sort of makes up for the "unfair fair catch" call that gave Minnesota an unearned win in 2023. Justice is blind.

Like Cooper said, it wasn't a fair catch.
