this present style was discussed over drinks at a conference I was at this fall.   The drunks at the bar, myself included, concluded that this is a no-go zone for anybody 40+.

Was looking at the Friday schedule, and missing the Texas-A&M and Nebraska-Colorado DH I grew up on that day...it's not great.  Tulane -Cincinnati at noon might be the most important game?  Winner is in the driver seat for a New Year 6 Bowl.  Florida-FSU that night, but when was the last time that game mattered nationally?  2000?  2012 is the only time since then that both teams were top 10.  And the game didn't really impact the NC race

FSU is quasi-"back" and beat LSU learly.  It should be interesting to see if they are building for next year.  Florida seems broken to me, not as bad as A&M broke, but not good.  This NIL thing, to me, is looking like a single edged sword.

OSU-UM both in top 10 7 times in the 70s.
OU-UNL both in top 10 6 times in the 80s.
UF-FSU both in top 10 12 times in 90s.  As in more than every year (2 Sugar Bowl rematches).

Let's see, Alabama, Georgia, and Clemson have peaked in the past 5 years......once they downturn, the state-of-FL teams will arise again.  There's too much talent in FL for them to stay down and once those 3 out of state programs stop poaching the best FL players, it's go time again.
