Interesting teams for 2019 you may watch

Aside from your team, your main rivals, etc., who are teams "out there" that for you have an interesting story line?  AS we chat B1G teams a lot, perhaps it's understanding several of mine are from that conference.

Nebraska - Second year coaches, nice finish last year, some guys coming back.
Purdue - Interesting coaching situation, able to knock someone off unexpectedly.
I'd also include NW, Wisconsin, and Iowa, and maybe Michigan, to a lesser extent.

Syracuse - The only ACC team to test Clemson of late.  Nobody else in the ACC looks particularly notable.

Texas - Strong year, great finish, is it real or Memorex?

Washington - Who starts at QB?  Is this yet another example of how critical a great coach can be to a program?

Army - Hey!

so, is this regarding the upcoming season in September of 2019 or are you projecting out to the following sept of 2020?

I'm interested in many old friends from the Big 12, Colorado in the PAC, Mizzou and others in the SEC and a few teams from Florida that have bumped heads with the Huskers through the 80s and 90s

I meant 2019.  I was trying to make some reservations for NYD and we would be departing in 2020.

Everything is booked that I've checked thus far.

I also have a wife.  I basically do whatever she wants.  We have been going somewhere over the December Holidays with as many of the family as can make it for the past few years.  She prefers somewhere warm, last year was Hawaii.  I would be fine with staying here almost full time frankly.  I prefer travel to see interesting things, history, culture, etc., not to "lie on the beach".

I will add teams as the thread grows, but for starters I want to see how the following four usually bad to mediocre programs follow up on last season’s big successes that I’m surprised didn’t get their coaches immediately employed at a higher level: Kentucky with Stoops, Iowa State with Matt Campbell, Syracuse with Dino Barbers, and Purdue with Brohm. And I will be expecting these four names to be speculated as soon as any big time job opens, if not constantly brought up when discontentment is setting in amongst fanbases who want their guy canned - looking at you Clay Helton and Gus Malzahn.

Good point about coaches.  Often, we see more coaches on the hot seat than we do coaches who have done well at lesser programs.

I have two daughters.  After trips to Hawaii, St. Pete's beach, a cruise, another trip to Hawaii, I told them I was done with beach trips for awhile.

planning to visit the San Fran Bay area next with them when we can work the schedule.

Our family is widely spread, so trying to find a place they can all get to and want to go to is not easy.

Atlanta has a nice accessible airport - it's warm that time of year - plenty of things to see and do

To be honest, Brohm is in a pretty good spot right now. Huge salary, [relatively] low expectations. Players love him, fan base loves him, he seems to be getting administrative support. And he's a low-key sort of guy who I honestly believe signed up to do a job [rebuilding the program] and isn't going to leave unless he's succeeded or he doesn't feel like he's getting the institutional support to succeed.

He almost left for Louisville, which isn't a "higher level" job but it's mama calling him home. If he's not going to leave for his alma mater, I highly doubt an extra million or two is going to sway him to a "higher level" job where he'll walk in and they're expecting national championships and CFP berths basically immediately. If he wanted that, he could have gone to Tennessee after the 2017 season.

Laying on the beach doing nothing is my personal idea of hell.
