As far as immigrants, you can't just give them a job and say "go!".

They need to learn the language and adapt to the culture. They also need to find housing (and not at taxpayer expense for more than 3-6 months, perhaps). They also need to be tested for health and immunized. It's not as simple as you like to make it. There are also many who do not want to play by the rules.

People can be pretty resourceful when you give them freedom.

Being resourceful doesn't always equate to a positive. Lots of bad people are resourceful.

Immigrants are pretty reliably good at being resourceful. This has been shown by pretty much everyone who studies them to any degree. It makes sense, because lazy shiftless people don't up and move to other countries with little assistance.

The problem right now is that we don't know who is here, or why.

Some truly want to be here and become productive members of our society. Great for them, and great for us.

That is not all of them and that's what bothers me. I've done a lot of studying too. Most here have.
