If a warrant is obtained by using falsified information presented to a FISA court ....   ????

That strikes me as a major loophole that I think was used in the cited case.

Back to the terror warning.

I was talking to my brother last night about this. Probably doesn't apply here since we are gated, but he is not.

There could be a terror cell in his neighborhood, and he wouldn't know it. The idea of that in itself is frightening. That's where we are now. They are here, without a doubt. 

But where?

I'd think any covert terror cell would be a rare thing in the US, and more apt to try and target something of political interest, not isolated individuals or residential areas.

Well, or large/meaningful commercial centers and/or public icons like the World Trade Centers.

But yeah, private residential areas are probably are not high on the list of terror targets.

I remember back in the mid-80s when I was in New Mexico a couple Chinese men in a rented car ran a security gate at Los Alamos National Labs.  This kind of thing is still going on and since, most recently with a military age illegal "immigrant" last month.

The danger around me would be more individually based, I suspect, but also quite low apparently.

The general area experienced some riots and looting a while back but it was pretty contained and had no impact on us directly.
