Eclipse 10/10 highly recommend
It is pretty amazing how much light there is even when the moon blocks 99% of the sun. We were lucky to get a clear, really beautiful day. The total eclipse was pretty moving.

Yeah it was pretty awesome.  I've never seen anything like it, and it's highly likely I never will again.

For people who have only seen partial eclipses, or even saw as much as 99% yesterday but not totality, all I can say is-- it's a completely different experience.  There's just no way to compare it to anything else, unless I suppose you're an astronaut.

The clouds were patchy during the leadup, but we got lucky and got a cloud break through almost the entirety of totality.

I also recommend, would see again.

I probably would have walked outside my house to take a gander if it had been a total thing here

I didn't bother to walk outside for whatever it was that folks here could see

I wouldn't drive a couple hours to see it.

And I drive a couple hours just to meet with a customer on a Tuesday

Man Fearless really is an eclipse-hater.  Negative responses every time someone so much as mentions it.

Do you need to show us on the doll, where the solar eclipse touched you?

Carriers move fairly quickly which makes them hard to hit with a ballistic missile.
Space X can land a orbital class rocket on a moving barge.  I think you're thinking in terms of old technology, where a missile is fed a target and just let fly there in a dumb way.  I'd think that you could have a spy satellite or similar station itself over the area the carrier is in and feed it live coordinates and it would be guided in.  Or you could have human control, similar to smart bombs we've had since the 90's.

What I'm saying is that I don't see how it would really be that hard to take out a carrier with technology that is very common today.  I know the military is worried about hypersonic missiles, but a ballistic missiles IMO would be harder to stop.

Plus, you'd have to consider a MIRV, where one rocket/BM has multiple warheads, even if they are not nuclear.  You could blanket a larger area with multiple MIRV's, and multiple BM.  Not sure well it would work in practice, and if there would be enough explosive force in a MIRV to truly damage a carrier.  We haven't really had carriers sustain battle damage since WWII, and I'd water that most of the bombs dropped by prop planes are not nearly as powerful as what modern jets/ICBM can carry.

Whether or not the missile would be detected from the other nation, and perceived as a nuclear threat, is unclear.  Other nations launch rockets all the time, so far few have been ICBM's ( we test launch our ICBM's all the time FWIW).
