Voter suppression?  What a joke.

in Texas, we literally have weeks to vote with zero crowds. Then on voting day the longest I have waited is 30-45 minutes. You only have to be registered, obviously, and have a valid ID.

if you can’t meet this criteria, imo, maybe you just shouldn’t vote.
Thanks for the anecdotal sample size of one.  Totally negates my point.  Darn.

California fast-food workers will get $20 minimum wage, starting Monday : NPR

Setting aside the concept of whether there should be any MW at all, my "solution" would be to set it nationally at the highest it's ever been adjusted for inflation (1968) and attach a COLA and remove it from political 'discussion" on the national level.

I'd not such increases might not help workers much if they get fewer hours and/or find they have to pay more for goods and services because of this increase.

I support the concept of higher pay for workers rather than executives, but am not sure this is the best way to that.  Maybe it is.  It's already expensive in that state for most things.  MW in say Mississippi could well be lower with the same overall impact.

I say no minimum wage at all. Let the market dictate. It works.

Sure, but it's not practicable to go to no MW, so I suggest a compromise.  I think folks on "each side" vie for absolutes instead of seeking compromise.  I suspect politicians who try and compromise don't get reelected.

Let the free (well, it used to be free) market decide.

Should we have a maximum price on cars? Houses? Meat? T-shirts?

No.

Minimum wage in FL is now $12 and will be $15 by 2026.

The McD's in town put out a sign for workers. Now hiring: $14/hour minimum to start.

The BK next door, just a couple of days later, put up a $15/hour sign.

Culvers pays $17/hour to start.

The American Egg Board (AEB) was created by an Act of Congress in 1976 at the request of America’s egg farmers, who desired to pool resources for national category-level egg marketing.

Home to The Incredible Egg and Egg Nutrition Center, AEB is dedicated to increasing demand for all U.S. eggs and egg products. For more than 40 years, America’s egg farmers have supported this mission by funding the AEB. The AEB is 100 percent farmer-funded, and those funds directly support the research, education and promotion necessary to market eggs.

We are honored to serve America’s egg farmers.

You're a smart person.
You're also being dishonest, pretending that not having an ID is the big deterrent to suppressing votes.
Thus, you make having the conversation unworthy of my time.

Once you're being honest and refrain from cherry-picking nonsense, then we can talk.
Don't be a shill.  Be thorough.  Be honest.  Be worthwhile.

I say no minimum wage at all. Let the market dictate. It works for the few, while the many suffer in severe poverty.
Fixed it.

This.
Today, compromise = weakness.
That's how bad things are.  That's how broken our system is.

See?
It took an act of Congress to make the idea of a "breakfast food" a reality.

I'm pretty sure folks ate eggs for breakfast here (and abroad as well) long before 1976.  I know I did.  My high school breakfast was 4 fried eggs, grits, toast, OK, and milk.

I think most folks have an ID, and those who don't can still vote using other means of identification.  Maybe it's a hindrance for a handful of people out there, I dunno.

Exactly cut the Golden Parachutes, the nonsense where they run businesses into the ground and walk away richer than the combined workforce should land them in leg Irons. This just made the idea of stopping for a quick cheap meal unreachable. And the idiots - I mean real idiots running the government and economy into the ground should be joinging the afore mentioned in shackles
