FACT OF THE DAY:

Half of the names of U.S. states are derived from Amerindian words, such as Arizona, Connecticut, Kentucky, and Missouri.

Some chatter about EU NATO countries sending troops into Ukraine.

This is not an attack on NATO - it's an attack by NATO.

If Russia were to respond, would that trigger Article 5?

I would say no. These few NATO countries would be the aggressors. It has nothing to do with the rest of the NATO countries, including ours.

Thoughts?
you're correct, it would not trigger an article 5 situation. however, not sure that matters. if idiot leaders like that short smelly little weirdo macron who married his grandma send troops into ukraine- nice knowing y'all...good chance ww3 gets kicked off shortly after that.

yeah no shit, would be nice if they can actually be a peace keeping force and stop the slaughter there......would also be cool if the US would just stop handing out free $$$$/loan guarantees to Israel and stop arming Israel to the teeth and providing cover for them at the UN by vetoing down every god damn UN resolution ever.

No thanks.

I'm cool with humanitarian drops, though.

The world produces an average of 430 million metric tons of plastic each year. The United States alone produces tens of millions of tons of plastic waste annually. Yet on average, only about 5 to 6 percent of plastic in the U.S. is recycled. NPR correspondent Michael Copley joins Ali Rogin to discuss a new report on the plastic industry’s tactics to push recycling and avoid regulation.

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/the-plastic-industry-knowingly-pushed-recycling-myth-for-decades-new-report-finds

A new report by the Center for Climate Integrity and environmentalist group says newly uncovered statements from oil and plastics executives underscore the industry's decades long secret skepticism about the viability and efficacy of recycling.

The authors of the report reviewed old investigations and new documents, including previously unknown assertions from industry executives. In 1994, one Exxon chemical executive put the industry support for plastics recycling in blunt terms, saying, quote, we are committed to the activities, but not committed to the results.

Another representative from DuPont noted in 1992, that recycling goals were set, knowing full well quote, they were unlikely to meet them.

Well, after basketball it's back to Covid, government POLICY, conference realignment, and more cooking and hotties.

I'm just coming off a bout with Norovirus. Sunday was particularly bad.

To make matters worse, we were at a friend's house, and it came on FAST.

Pretty embarrassing.
