Or you might also look into a cast iron enameled casserole-- they're shallower than Dutch oven, could probably work nicely as a fry pan, plus it has a lid.  It's not quite the 15.5" you were looking at but it looks to be bigger than a 12" skillet:

https://www.amazon.com/Lodge-Casserole-Enamel-Handles-Carribbean/dp/B000N4UX4Q/ref=asc_df_B000N4UX4Q/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167129094649&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1832605028265428534&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9028226&hvtargid=pla-187772982983&psc=1&mcid=41a3ad1813f6369b9934204bd26a001d&gclid=CjwKCAjw17qvBhBrEiwA1rU9w0vQf5F-oJ9MMDrOP8vBRBQ2FAKsQasg-LNghwvJi0F7LD1RpbdeNRoCeWkQAvD_BwE
Already got it (in red). Honestly my cast iron collection is already large...

  • 15.5 qt Le Creuset oval dutch oven
  • 6.5 qt Lodge round dutch oven
  • 5.75 qt Le Creuset oval dutch oven (was my wife's before we met)
  • 3.6 qt Lodge braiser (the one you linked)
  • 12" Lodge cast iron skillet
  • 10" Lodge cast iron skillet
  • Lodge rectangular skillet (not checking dimensions, maybe 11"x22", w/ flat side and "grill mark" side)
  • Kamado Joe half-circle cast iron skillet for Big Joe (half of a 24" circle)

There might be something I'm overlooking in there lol...

We were looking one day at the outlet for the Le Creuset "everyday pan" which is an enameled cast iron pan, but it was TINY. Hence looking for something like the Staub. The sort of idea for this would be doing something like schnitzel or salmon cakes with the kids. Need a lot of surface area to cook multiple portions without working in batches more than necessary, but shallow as working inside a 15.5 qt dutch oven with high walls might be a little cumbersome.

You've certainly got me beat.  I only have a couple of 8-quart Dutch ovens and a couple of 12" skillets.  Oh and one of those reversible griddle/flat top pans like you mentioned, but we rarely use that one.

Yeah, I hate the reversible flat top / griddle pan and should probably donate it to Goodwill or something. I never use it.

Random thing:

I've been looking at different AI image generating sites and such, and I discovered one that takes regular photos and kind of makes it look like they're watercolor paintings.

It's actually https://animefilter.com/ but I don't care about anime or anything.  It just looks neat to alter photos that way.

I have one too that was an impulse buy from Costco. I've used it a couple times, but you can't really cook burgers or bacon on it (at least on the stovetop) due to the grease. But it is good for eggs and pancakes.

We have a very large electric griddle that we use for breakfast items like eggs and pancakes.  It can handle large groups much better than any of our stovetop options.

I've been really tempted to pick up a Blackstone flattop griddle but it's hard to justify with how little I'd probably use it, compared to the price.  I might rationalize it as a camping expense, though... :)

Yeah I've heard people really rave about the Blackstones. And they would be handy to have, but I try to keep the garage at least hypothetically able to handle at least one car.

I have a blackstone. It is great and can be used for a wide variety of foods. I love the very large surface which allows me to cook one thing on one end and another on the other end, at different temperatures.

I'd like to have one. I wonder if there is something I could get as a topper for my Weber Summit?

I had that. It rusted out completely. No place to keep it inside.
