Welp, I just voted in the R primary.

President -none of the above. I don’t like any of them.

Most candidates didn’t earn my vote either. I just skipped most of them.

Voted for sheriff,  precinct   commissioner.

I'd say when I vote I have zero clue about 90% of the races, none.  It gets annoying, but I'm lazy.

It was a poor attempt at insurrection

The attempt failed miserably

Why did it fail???

Not because the capital police stopped it.

It really wasn't much of an attempt in my opinion
That's kinda true with all insurrections. Every single insurrection in history has failed.

If they succeed, they're called revolutions.

18 U.S. Code §2383, which provides that:
Quote
Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Insurrections and other acts of violence against governments by their own citizens or subjects (some of which are not clearly distinguishable from revolutions, coups d’état, civil wars, or resistance to foreign rule) are commonplace in world history. Among many historically significant insurrections of the 20th and 21st centuries are the March on Rome of 1922, which brought Benito Mussolini and his National Fascist Party to power in Italy; the July Plot against Adolf Hitler in 1944; the briefly successful Hungarian Revolution of 1956; the student revolt in Paris in May 1968; the Zapatista rebellion in Mexico beginning in 1994; and the United States Capitol attack of January 2021.

they know it was never an insurrection

Yeah, a bunch of weirdos entered the capitol unarmed and taking selfies does not constitute an insurrection in my mind. I don't think that was on the minds of most of those dumbasses when they did it.

But here we are.

The far-right is paying for their actions that day. Locked up and held without bail.

The far-left burns down court houses and walks away.

That's the biggest thing in my mind. The DOJ is politicized. CIA and FBI too. That's a problem.

I hear two very disparate stories about January 6.

1.  Some folks wondered through the building taking selfies, and

2.  An angry mob attacked the Capitol with the intent of overturning the electoral process.

I think some of the folks were in Part 1, but quite a few were in Part 2.

Ahh, yes, it was just a peaceful tour of the Capitol that got a little out of hand.

It was a language thing. They didn't threaten to hang Mike Pence to get him to abrogate his duties and not certify the election, prevent the peaceful transfer of power, and award the loser of the election four more years in the White House. They just wanted to hang out with Mike Pence because he's such a cool dude.

You've never seen video of violence on January 6?  Really?  Huh.

Some of it looked awful, to me anyway.  Maybe that was CGI or something.

I would suggest that a few participated in Part 2 while a majority were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

All the video? You've reviewed it all?

You can't even take the time to read a 20 page SCOTUS opinion. I guess because you were reviewing hundreds of hours of footage?

I guess you must have missed this one...
