The French ain't sending shit in the way of troops. They are barely even sending monetary support and weapons to Ukraine as is.
Right.  So why are you getting all spun up about it?

You, more than any other poster I've encountered on any other message board I've ever frequented, going back to my BBS days in the 80s, seem to constantly be looking for something to be angry about.

Approaching things like that would absolutely wear me out, but you have to do you, as they say.

Dickface Putin is just plan evil.

Alexei Navalny, a thorn in Vladimir Putin's side, died. What does it mean for Russia? (msn.com)

kind of crazy, thought for sure he was probably executed in jail as you know dictator gonna dictator, but Ukraine's top spy- the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence- says that Navalny died of natural causes- a blood clot. WSJ also reporting that Navalny was going to be a part of a prisoner swap for a Russian hitman that Germany is holding in prison. WSJ isn't exactly a bastion of reporting, but it's at least significantly more credible/reliable than say the New York Times or Washington Post.

He might have a bit of competition on the "other board" at times, but they are more negative about life than angry, in my view.  I was kind of "angry" about life when I was much younger.  Oddly enough, an event that merited being very very angry, and I was for a bit, changed me around.

I don't waste time chasing around the interwebz looking for such stuff about which I can only be angry, call people names, and use profanity.  The real world is challenging enough without invoking weird conspiracy notions all day.

Apple pulls the plug on it's electric car. They've spent about a decade and who knows how many countless billions on the project in R&D. Probably should've just bought Tesla when they had the chance like 7-8 years ago for what would've been pennies on the dollar now....

I suspected my son in law was working on the Apple car.  He knows a ton about cars, and works for them.  He won't talk about work.

have a cousin who worked on it, he told me they made everyone sign NDA's and they were explicitly not allowed to talk about it.  only thing he told me was that the car was freaking ugly.

Seemed like a pretty severe mismatch of core competency vs. product deliverable.  And a pretty arrogant play for a market they don't belong in.

But hey, at times Apple's hubris has been the secret to its success, so ya never know.

Apple had more cash on hand than most small countries GDPs at one point and could've bought Tesla, Netflix, and Disney in cash and still had cash left over. Instead....CEO Tim Cook's big acquisition was a company that made overpriced shitty headphones for $3 billion.

Apple already is a freaking machine that prints money, but to think what it'd be had it scooped up Tesla and Netflix when they had the chance is a little scary.

I've had stock in Apple for a few years, am glad I did.  They stalled out a bit of late.  My financial adviser on back didn't want to buy Costco, said it was too expensive, but when I took over, I bought some, and then some more, glad I did.  Costco has been a rocket of late.  I wrote some call options on them as I thought they were over bought, and then they went up near the strike price in a week.

I find it astounding that Apple is as much a "lifestyle brand" as it is an electronics company. People with iPhone/iPad/MacBook/Airpods think they're cooler than those "nerds" who buy Android / PC.

You know who is most proud to let everyone else know which electronics they buy? "Nerds".

never made sense to me that they would even try to get into the headache and absolute landmine that is manufacturing automobiles.

what also never made sense to me is Apple never went after the gaming console market. they have such a loyal fanboy fanatical fan base and they are the cool "hip" tech company of the entire world. the odds they'd overtake the kingshit of that market Sony are pretty high imo.

Profit margins on gaming consoles are a lot lower than what Apple typically likes to see in its hardware business.  I'm not sure they'd be able to command the same premium on an Apple PS/XBox competitor, that they do for their core PC and mobile products.  Maybe if they'd grown up as a brand alongside Sony and Sega and Nintendo and Microsoft, they might have been able to establish a premium brand.

I don't know much about the gaming industry but I'm guessing the content is the most important part.  So your hardware platform has to support the games that people want, and if you try to go all in-house closed ecosystem in gaming, as Apple does in the personal computing world, I'm not sure that gamers would follow them simply because they're Apple.  Not now, anyway.  Maybe if they'd established that as part of their brand 30 years ago, then they could command the kind of premium margins they like to see.

Admittedly if the target was an L5 self-driving vehicle, that's the damn white whale of automotive tech.

If that's not what Apple was working on, then everyone involved in the decision-making path to invest should be fired.
