It is truly hard to believe, our allies and enemies probably think the same, though some are in similar shape.

I got an earful about French politics on our trip and it's not looking good there either.

our allies and enemies don't want to see Trump. they will actually have someone formidable to go up against. they want the senile geriatric fk who shits his diapers and doesn't know where he is to stay in office so they can continue to take advantage of the united states of america.  Biden has been the best thing that has ever happened to our enemies and "allies" who wish to see us slip.

To me anyway, Trump's comments were ill advised, all too typical, pointless, and another example of how negative he is at heart.  His actual "proposals" are to drill drill drill and close the border, which I guess plays well with his base.  Maybe he'll "ban Muslims from entering while he's at it.

Meanwhile, the US today has record high oil production, and it's up to the drilling companies to drill, or not, usually depending on pricing.  As for closing the border, I can't even imagine what is meant by that.  Mexico today is our largest trading partner.

I'd rather we didn't get too far into the weeds on this.

I will say that I don't think "drill drill drill" is correct. It's more about energy independence rather than begging the Saudis to produce more.
