And by "innocent," I mean civilians who aren't directly involved in Hamas' terrorist activities.  But it's still misrepresenting the situation, because almost every Gazan civilian hates Israel, loves it when Hamas attacks them, and is happy to chant "Death to Israel" to anyone, for any occasion.

"Innocents" don't condone that kind of thing, or indirectly participate/fund/facilitate it, or perpetuate its ideology.  Which Gazans almost universally do.
Israel is not innocent. They have been occupying the Palestinian people for decades.

You do know there were like basically no Jews in that entire region until the late 1920's, right? Israel is a colonizer nation that's happened right before our very eyes in the last 100 years- they've wiped out an entire population and just taken their land and established a new nation that did not and would not exist if it wasn't for the British and the US supporting it.

I'm sure you'd just love it and be A OK if a bunch of Mexicans came into the US, set up shop, declared a new nation, then just decided to occupy all the land because 1/3rd of the US used to be part of Mexico- so hey- they have a right to reclaim it.

Israel has a right to exist.

So does Palestine.

Therein lies the problem.

That's on the Brits. They started it off after WW1.

Let them deal with it now.
it's 100% on the Brits. They fked everything up in the entire world basically.

They can't deal with it anymore. The Brits are a bunch of has beens. They are nothing but our little lapdog poodle. A powerless, useless, pathetic nation.

It's up to us to deal with it. And unfortunately the current administration has done a SH*T fking job of that. Hate Trump all you want- but the Middle East wasn't on fire and Europe wasn't in chaos when he was running the show. Dude got results. Who cares if he's a bully who mean tweets and is a despicable human being. Can he do the job well is all that matters. Are his policies effective is all that matters. And he CLEARLY did a MUCH better job than this brain dead nursing home patient has done.

I think y'all are really going to settle this debate, finally, right here on this forum.

Thousands of years of conflict and murder from both sides, but you'll be able to solve it.

Good job!

truth.

:043:

my personal opinion? US should've ethered Israel after it's attack on the USS Liberty in 1967. Only country that's ever attacked the US and we never hit them back 100x harder. I'm sorry but you attack one of our ships and kill 40 US servicemen and injury hundreds more- we typically wax that ass, kick ass and take names. But yeah, nothing happened to them. Not even a slap on the wrist.

Touche, but I honestly don't think it's that complicated of a subject, as people want to make it.

I will say, I'm probably one of the few people on "my side," in my experience anyway, who acknowledges the Arabs have a claim.

Kinda like what Hamas did to a bunch of civilians recently.....again?

So since Israeli citizens have the right not to be slaughtered like cattle, you must support their right to ensure that doesn't happen again.

Glad we agree.

we definitely agree.

stack up the body counts however over the last 70+ years. Israel is like the Michael Jordan of killing and the Palestinians are like G-League scrubs who can barely make the roster.

The Palestinians have been living under occupation in what is essentially an open air prison. Of course there is going to be blowback from that. Obviously not saying the blowback is warranted- as terror attacks and murder of civilians is disgusting and immoral. But it's not as if they are just happening because. Palestinians are living in absolute shit conditions- and have been for 70+ years.

I'm just sayin be a little more selective of targets

Hamas killin a bunch in a day or two is horrible and should be punished and deterred to doing that shit again.

Israel killin Thousands in bunches for months with no end in sight isn't any better.

We're led to believe by our press that when the US retaliates vs a terrorist state or organization that we go out of our way to limit collateral damage to civilians.
Hopefully, this is mostly true.

Oh how nice of you to acknowledge that Palestinians have a claim to not live under occupation in open air prisons and live on lands that they and their families have been living on for thousands of years until 1948. Kind of crazy how an American of Jewish descent has a guaranteed right by birth to return to Israel but Palestinians who were forced to flee their homes during war in the 40's and 60's- and have documents proving land ownership from the days of the British Mandate do not have the right to return.

look at the drone shots of Gaza before and after.

they are not being selective. they are purposely turning the entire strip into rubble and ruins. they are purposely turning it into an uninhabitable wasteland. the Israeli military/gov't simply does not care about the life of Palestinian women and children. they aren't merely just "mowing the lawn" as they call it- every few years - they are out to level everything in sight regardless of who gets killed and maimed in the process.

30,000 people have been killed in the last couple months of Israel's invasion, most of them women & children, and almost 2 million people have been displaced from their homes because of the constant bombings, most of them women & children.
