yeah, no it hasn't. inflation is still a massive problem for the every day person.

just 'cause Premier Biden's corrupt phony gov't rigs #'s on the economy, doesn't mean it's true pal.
If you're going to claim rigged numbers, then provide evidence, please.

hard to find them to ask or judge

I don't know how many of them there are, but it's not many

very easy to find a job paying $10/hour or more

Lots $10, $12, $15/hr jobs sitting unfulfilled in our part of the country right now.  Apparently being an influencer pays more these days.

Being an influencer sounds great but most people have no idea the time and effort it takes to make a living out of it and then.... it's even tougher to remain fresh and keep up with trends or set them.

My son is 13 and makes $20/hr as a ref for little kids' soccer games— which ends up being one game per hour with breaks and half time.   On really hot or cold days, they push it to $35.

And so does being a whore on camera on OnlyFans. if you're an even moderately sexy woman- never been a better time to be alive than now and earn easy money.

I can get a great burger in our local bar for $13.99, including a side. Not going to 5 guys or whatever.

Shit, I was in a pinch on our last travel and paid $14.50 for double whopper combo. That's sick.
Yeah, we were originally talking about going to Stadium Brewing Co, which is very close to the bookstore. Great food. But it was cold and rainy, so we weren't going to sit in their outdoor seating, and we though it would not only take a bunch more time, but it would end up being WAY more expensive, which is why we ended up at Five Guys.

Hell, a burger there is only $20, comes with fries, and is pretty damn good. So that covers the oldest and I. My wife LOVES their Greek tacos at $21. The two younger ones would probably be kids' menu at $12 each and includes drinks. Total of $85 and more worth it.

(Granted, the bill might jump a bit since, ya know, it's a brewery and all. But I'd stomach the cost of lunch a lot more easily with a brew or three in my belly, so it's worth it.)

I will say, Five Guys is usually pretty high quality.....from my experience. it's a pretty high price for fast food- but it's not that much more than like Burger King or McDonald's- but it's FAR better.
Read upthread... It's *WAY* more expensive than McD's, BK, or our local favorite, In n Out. But it's also a different style of fast casual, larger, higher end burger.

That's what surprised me. It's obviously way better than McD's and BK, and I think you can make a claim that it's "better" than In n Out (but I always argue they're a different category so shouldn't be compared directly).

But I was FLOORED by the fact that it cost so damn much. Even with costly fast food around here given SoCal, feeding the family at McD's would probably end up around $40-45. I did it not too long ago on a morning my son and I played golf and my wife wanted me to pick up food instead of making anything... I think it was almost exactly $45--and it's arguable I bought too much food.

Go out to dinner or to a grocery store for your answer. It's not that hard to figure out that things today are far more expensive than things were 4 years ago. Prices have not - and will not - go down, and wages have not kept up (unless you work for the government).

Vaguely related:

I wish Thomas Sowell's "Basic Economics" was required reading for high school or at least undergrad studies.  Although it's long, it's extremely readable and understandable.  It addresses multiple topics in depth, but seriously, it reads at like a 9th grade level, or less.  I've lent mine to friends over the years who argued for higher minimum wages, UBI, socialist economic principles, or just complained about the prohibitive cost of luxury items as relates to low-income individuals.  It's really a brilliant primer on how basic supply and demand and the allocation of resources affects things downstream on an everyday level, and, indirectly it also shines a light on how political types sometimes go wrong in their thinking when implementing policy.

Pirates on San Francisco Bay?  Gov. Face needs to draw his cutlass and get out there!
https://www.foxnews.com/us/seabound-bandits-terrorize-san-francisco-bay-amid-surge-homeless-camps

Pirates, and now: "Yacht owners are abandoning vessels in San Francisco's Bay Area when they get too old and costly to repair - and hide their identify by scratching off registration numbers"

Daily Maily—
"Many of the abandoned boats are being commandeered as makeshift shelter in communities known as 'anchor-outs,' while others, set adrift and often filled with garbage, eventually wreck or sink. With their registration numbers scratched off to conceal the owner's identity, it is often impossible to hold irresponsible boat owners accountable..."

"Earlier this year, boat owners in the Oakland Estuary had to contend with a 'pirate' crime wave blamed on the residents of illegal anchor-outs, who launched sorties into marinas to strip vessels for parts. In addition to the crime issue, the abandoned boats pose navigational and environmental hazards, cluttering waterways and spilling fuel and trash into the bay."
