I can get a great burger in our local bar for $13.99, including a side. Not going to 5 guys or whatever.

Shit, I was in a pinch on our last travel and paid $14.50 for double whopper combo. That's sick.

I try to stay away from fast food like the plague, but last time I had a late flight back in and all that was open was McDonald's and I was starving so I was forced to go, and I noticed this as well. Their prices are OUTRAGEOUS now for what the fk they are serving. It's all highly processed low quality cheap GARBAGE that they are buying and serving and they have INSANE economies of scale on. They have to be the single largest purchaser of beef, potatoes, and Coca Cola on planet earth- if not #1 then they are VERY near the very top 3 in all those categories. Which means: they get the best deals. Not only do they get the best deals but they are getting the cheapest low quality beef if you can even call it beef, the cheapest potatoes & cheapest produce- and in terms of the soda it costs them literally pennies to fill up a paper cup of soda. HOW the F do they charge what they charge and get away with it?

I will say, Five Guys is usually pretty high quality.....from my experience. it's a pretty high price for fast food- but it's not that much more than like Burger King or McDonald's- but it's FAR better.
