Sounds like you conveniently ordered meals, when you can get 2 items and a drink for under $5.00.

Twice what it was 4 years ago.

That is what inflation and ridiculous minimum wage rates will do.
And no immigration

Parents wouldn't take my brother and I to McDonalds back in the late 60s and 70s because it was too expensive

same as today

Higher minimum wages apply to everyone, when it comes to fast food employees. Notice which state is the highest.

I don't believe in minimum wage. The market should dictate this.

$7/person plus more tip plus more tax

$30/$35 more for a family of 4

but, It's not below zero

and of course their minimum wage workers aren't struggling and they don't have a homeless issue

How much is a burger there?
At In n Out, I think a Double Double is $5.55, and a Cheeseburger is $3.85. That's up quite a bit as the Double Double was <$4 before COVID.

The Bacon Cheeseburger at Five Guys, which to be fair is substantially larger than the Double Double and had bacon, was $14 tho... Just not even close. Could have two Double Doubles AND an order of fries for that at In n Out.

Yep. 5 people. Two bacon cheeseburgers. Two little cheeseburgers. One little bacon cheeseburger. Two large fries (plenty for us, split 5 ways). Water. $85.

I don't know if tipping for counter service is ever really necessary, so I didn't. They're probably making $18/hr.
