I'll wait til MDT stops by to see if it checks out.

Sometimes stereotypes are true.

This is a topic we discuss around here from time to time.  Interesting data, doesn't include private schools.

Oh I'm not questioning it, I'm just surprised it could just end like this

Apparently they don't gouge their fans as badly as other schools...

So I'm assuming this is reported data, so parking would only be in university controlled lots?  UM likely loses a lot there, aside from the smallish lot next to the stadium, I would think their golf course (which is frequently closed if the grass is soft) is their only source of parking revenue.  Thinking of the campuses I'm familiar with, MSU, Penn State and Indiana (to a slightly lesser degree) control all of the parking lots near the stadium.  Particularly Penn State.

Yeah it would only count revenue going in to the university's coffers.

UT also has very few university-owned lots and garages, it's almost entirely State-owned (state capital and all state offices nearby) and city-owned (city hall and all city offices nearby).    So none of that revenue goes to the university.

But what few lots and garages the university DOES own, are priced at an extreme premium.  I'm sure they still make a decent chunk on it.

Not enough room on campus for all of their fans' homes

Minnesota's revenue almost certainly does not include parking.

Parking and Transportation Services, easily the most despised department at the university, gets all of that cash.

Those who donate enough as part of their season ticket package get the opportunity to pay for season parking. The donation goes to the athletic department, the fee goes to PTS.
