You're in FB jail for being conservative

That would be hilarious, to me.  My liberal friends do think I'm a con, my con friends think I'm a lib.

I deleted my FB account years ago. I haven't missed it at all.

I got into FB in 2006 when my kids went off to college and didn't respond to my emails.  They told me everyone conversed on "My Space", and then FB popped up.

My kids don't use FB any more, ironically, not that I blame them.  I find it occasionaly useful.

My parents and lots of aunts/uncles/cousins use Facebook, so for me it's always been a good way to keep up with them, keep them in the loop, post some pictures of the kids, and all without having to make dozens of phone calls or whatever.

Although I'll admit as the kids have gotten older, we're having fewer photo ops, so my updates have grown less frequent.  Might be approaching a time when I'll abandon it as well.

Feels like 90% of my Facebook feed is about Columbus restaurants now, which is honestly fine

What's your top 3 in CBUS? I'm still a little leery to fly for medical reasons so we are thinking about sneaking off to Cbus in the coming month.

About ten years ago I came across some study which claimed that there was an negative correlation between happiness and the amount of facebook usage.  I was having all kinds of problems at the time, so I thought I'd quit cold turkey for a while to see if it helped.  To my mild surprise, it did.  I didn't use it at all for about 3 months.  Sporadically since then, I've used it more, but never like I used to, and for a while now, only barely.  It is a great tool for tracking all my friends' birthdays, I like to log on in the mornings and wish people a happy birthday.  I always like it when people remember and mention my birthday, so I do it in hopes that it adds a little to someone's day.  Mostly I immediately log out after that.

I have been considering doing more with FB lately, but I haven't been able to bring myself to do it yet.

What do you like? I'm not really a big fine dining person - my favorite meal is still probably the beef patacon at El Arepaza, which is a griddled sweet plantain covered in salad and beef and cilantro sauce. We've been to most of the restaurants in the Short North - getting a hotel downtown and eating and drinking your way down High Street is pretty easy and fun. There is an Italian place called Speck that I've heard great things about but haven't tried yet.

Its funny as I haven't really even thought about this topic. I'm definitely not a chain restaurant type of guy and I would probably say I leaned towards fine dining but always liked steakhouses and Italian.

That being said, my life journey changed a ton last year and I haven't eaten out since and my food intake is crazy different. I basically make everything from scratch at home including bread and pasta and buy local vegetables, fruit, meats, eggs, milk, etc.  So I guess fine dining is probably not the concern, but maybe scratch restaurants which i certainly don't expect you to have a list like that lol.

Interesting that you like the plantains.. that was definitely a common food for me living overseas but I haven't had one in nearly 20 years.

I used to visit Ohio State once a year for three days on the company dime.  I dined here at least once.

Funny. I actually kept my birthday private, because I had the opinion that if you have to use Facebook to remember my birthday, my birthday isn't that important to you and I'd rather not you give me a pity mention online.

But... I'm a little weird.
