Sure, money is fungible anyway, Iran would replace $6 billion they now spend on "hospitals" and move that to military spending, it's easy.  But IF the money hasn't yet been touched, it's not a factor in the Hamas thing.  I don't think the two things are related, except as a political football.
Nobody has said it was.

But it doesn’t change the FACT that Hamas has been well funded and armed by Iran for years.  That is not disputed by any authoritative or credible person.

Like I said NOBODY of credibility has said that this $6B that was indeed “ unfroze”  was used for this attack.  Why are you guys do hung up on that?

Now- back to the conversation.  Hamas ( and Hezbolah) are funded and armed by Iran, and everyone knows that. The intelligence community, Dems, Republicans- hell even Iran.

The Republican field is blaming Joe Biden for dealing with Iran after Hamas' attack on Israel - ABC News (go.com)

Obviously, it's a political talking point.

And it "sounds good", Biden "gives" $6 billion to Iran who funds Hamas who then attacked Israel.  And a lot of folks believe this is directly related.

I said nobody of credibility lol.

It has nothing to do with Biden.  Hell- it was under Bush that Gaza was turned over to Hamas.

This goes way back.

I just watched Mike Pence on CNN

He said nothing of the kind.  Never blamed it on anyone here. Just talked about what we need to do to support Israel effort to get hostages back.

The idiot Trump is the one who said it was US taxpayers money.  Idiot.

DeSantis just blamed it on soft policies- very debatable but not an reasonable opinion

DeSantis, in a video statement, accused Biden of “policies that have gone easy on Iran” and have “helped to fill their coffers. Israel is now paying the price for those policies. We’re going to stand with the State of Israel, they need to root out Hamas and we need to stand up to Iran.”

I was trying to keep this conversation non political.  Saying Iran funds Hamas and has for years is not political- it is established fact.

Cinci- you and Gopher turned it political.

😂😂

my girl is there.   It is nerve racking for me- but not political.   She just finished a bus ride from Egypt/ through southern Israel, ( very near the fighting) and into Tel Aviv.

I mentioned that to my wife at breakfast today, noting we were fortunate to be there when things were calm.

I never was nervous about anything, but I knew the situation could get volatile.

By definition, anything relating to government is political.

My wife really wanted to go, and I found it interesting in parts.  After seeing Egypt and Jordan in long bus rides, the difference in Israel is striking in terms of infrastructure.

I assessed the risk as low, at the time, but not negligible.  We also sailed through the Straits of Hormuz and around that pirate region off Yemen, the boat captain announced we were entering a pirate area.  They have a radar repeating station where one can view the bridge, and someone pointed to a ship off the horizon they said was a French frigate about 25 miles away.  It would be tough to take on a cruise liner of that size doing 20 knots.

We're leaving Tuesday for another cruise, this time around Great Britain, so I suppose the risk is much lower though we have a stop in Belfast.

I think there are aspects of our government that are close to apolitical, take the Patent and Trademark Office for example.
