Eh, the foreign money was for a very specific purpose.  The people who will feel the retaliation aren't part of the decision making process.  And those who took the money will be long gone

So it is pretty obvious that Hamas is funded by Iran. Nobody disputes that.  So is Hezbolah 

We ( USA) just gave a pile of money to Iran. Sadly- we seem to be funding both sides of it. 

in the meantime-civilian hostages have been taken and disbursed throughout Gaza ( a place already full of secret caves and tunnels).  So that complicates things For Israel.

No. Not directly.   Nobody thinks that.  This attack was well planned for some time.

Sure, money is fungible anyway, Iran would replace $6 billion they now spend on "hospitals" and move that to military spending, it's easy.  But IF the money hasn't yet been touched, it's not a factor in the Hamas thing.  I don't think the two things are related, except as a political football.
