Could you point them out? Should be an easy copy/paste.
Most obvious is:
"nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law
"

That creates limitations on depriving someone of life which pretty obviously means that someone can be deprived of life with due process.

I disagree with both of you because it IS interconnected.

Starting as far back as the 1950's left wing crime policies started to take over.  There were a lot of aspects to this but generally lenient sentencing was one along with SCOTUS interpretations changing in a direction allowing a lot more to criminals and a lot less to government.  Miranda rights appeared out of nowhere.  The police were prohibited from using lethal force against fleeing felons.  At one point the death penalty was almost deemed unconstitutional and there were four votes on the SCOTUS for exactly that despite the death penalty being explicitly authorized by the constitution.

Left wing crime policies made nearly every large city in America effectively unlivable.

We had to spend literally trillions of dollars to build suburbs because the policies of our elites FORCED working people out of the cities.

That started to turn around in the 1970's and by the 1990's it had reversed.  People saw the results of left wing policies and said "no thanks, I'd like to live."  NYC elected tough on crime republican and republican-turned-independent mayors in five consecutive elections.  Three strikes laws were passed in most states.  Criminal penalties were toughened up.

Crime dropped and cities became livable again.

Then people forgot why they started voting for tough-on-crime politicians and went back to the left wing policies and guess what?

Chicago is a war zone.  Crime is skyrocketing.  Shocking, isn't it?
One easy thing would be to allow immigrants to move to the "unlivable cities" and work. That has always been an easy way to reduce crime and increase economic opportunities in cities, currently on hold due to our insane policies on immigration.

One of my coworkers immigrated in his late teens from El Salvador... To South Central LA. In I'm guessing the late 80s / early 90s.

The helicopters didn't bother him. They were news choppers, not military-grade Sikorsky like at home.

The sound of distant gunfire didn't bother him. It was piddly little handguns, not fully automatic machine gun fire.

Perspective is everything, no?

My understanding is that immigrants like your coworker have almost completely displaced the previous population of South Central Los Angeles.

Construction of Atlanta's first bus-rapid transit line finally starts soon | Urbanize Atlanta

I lean to thinking bus "rapid" transit is a better option to street cars, which have tracks and can't easily move to another route.

One issue is that I think a lot of folks view buses as somehow beneath them.  These will be new electric buses so maybe that won't play?

Mostly true.

We are partners in some properties in that area. Those people work, have strong families, and they pay their rent.

Most of our stuff is in Compton or Long Beach. Same ethics.

And no - we are not subsidized.

Here in south east Florida. There is a substantial population of both legal and illegal immigrants.

The majority are extremely hard-working people, they contribute substantially to the economy, and are very friendly and approachable.

There is also some percentage that are at the other end of the spectrum. Career, criminals, or gang members who contribute more to crime and other problems.

It’s always been about the vetting. Or lack there of.

This.

Immigrants around here are mostly Cuban and (some) Venezuelan. Very hard-working people.

Doesn't matter if that situation is held by a D or an R, it is going to be a mess.  The party in the (slim) majority in the HoR is naturally going to have people from the wing that want to "burn it all down" but the grown ups need to actually get the business of government done and there are naturally going to HAVE to be compromises because the other party controls the Senate and the White House so the Speaker in that situation is going to have a constant mess on their hands.

Gaetz' criticism is basically that McCarthy passed a budget with more Democrat than Republican votes so his solution was to oust the speaker with more Democrat than Republican votes.
You may dispose of the both-sides-ism at this time. This mess is all Republican and nothing but Republican.

Nancy Pelosi has had multiple razor-thin majorities featuring a much larger left flank than the Freedom Caucus is to the current GOP. While there are certainly differences in stances, even substantial and loud ones, there's a big gap between large differences of opinion and shutting down the government or deposing the Speaker.

The GOP's conduct since throwing McCarthy out isn't helping their case to why the Democrats should bail them out.

Speaking of Matt Gaetz, he's your next governor of Florida.

A lot of Republican voters liked what Rep. Gaetz was saying:  return to the regular order budgeting process and no more giant pork saturated Omnibus bills just before Christmas.
A decade of Victory over Penn State.

All in since 1969

The difference is the D's are mostly in lockstep with their leaders.

Nope. Too polarizing. My way-too-early prediction is Byron Donalds.

McC removed the omnibus stuff and went to individual spending.

I can't remember the last time there was a real budget. Late '90's maybe?

Gaetz screwed the pooch here, in my opinion. R's had enough chaos in their party. And now this happens.

Have you seen the Republican primary electorate in Florida? Gaetz checks all of their boxes. At minimum he's the Republican nominee in '28.

Is that really a question? I mean, I looked in the mirror this morning. ;)

Anyway, he unchecks more boxes than he checks.

2028? No chance. Unelectable.
