I forgot about a residential area just north of us, it was started in 1904 when this was farmland.  It has very wide streets which are attractive, and round abouts at most intersections.  I don't know if they were added later, I suspect the "island" in the middle was.  Of course traffic is rather light, it's a nice place to walk or bike, the homes often are impressive.  Some sketchy ones get bought up and demo'd and replaced with a real mansion.  It was a time when land was cheap, especially out here, and they didn't pile houses on top of each other.

I was musing about where a RAB could be constructed anywhere else near us, and I think not.

I could see that going downhill into an intersection might encouarge folks to "beat the light" and get caught on red.

What Is the Difference Between an SUV and a Crossover? (motortrend.com)

If you were a Jeopardy contestant and shouted "What is the difference between an SUV and a Crossover?" Alex would announce, "Correct!" You'd win the $300, and then shoot a knowing wink at the home audience. Saying that SUVs ride on ladder frames and crossovers have unibodies is the simplest, correct-est answer.

I'd just be happy with drivers making driving their main focus while driving.
Having spent a great deal of time on the side of Twin Cities freeways, I wholeheartedly agree.

My F150 does.  Body-on-frame construction.

No shit.

I saw a woman driving while eating a bowl of cereal last week. It's bad enough driving around here.

Beats the women I occasionally catch putting on their makeup, looking at themselves in the visor mirror.

I wonder how many can no longer be seen doing that because they got removed from the gene pool already.

Most pickups and SUVs based on them are body on frame, as noted in the article.  That has some advantages, and dis of course depending on usage.  If you want a vehicle to drive around town and on trips on the freeway with no towing, the monocoque is going to be better.

If you need to tow or go off road ....

Body on frame is superior for heavy payloads in the bed, as well.

But for me, it's mostly the towing and a little off-road.

Interestingly, the Airstream travel trailer is a semi-monocoque.  It has a light steel ladder frame, but the upper exterior aluminum shell and bottom aluminum bellypan are constructed in such a way that they assume some of the support of the vehicle as well.

I find the differing roundabouts problematic.  Some have the inner lane have the option to turn off onto a certain road, but when in that lane, I have ZERO confidence the driver in the outer lane realizes it and may try to continue around, thus having me turn into them while it being their fault.
I simply don't think the average person can handle them.
