I guess with the 10+ FF leagues I've played over the last decade, the fact that I've only missed the playoffs in one of them, won the league in several, and finished runner-up or 3rd place in a few more, must mean I'm the luckiest SOB in the world, huh?

I don't know why you're acting like this is a "gotcha."  
My anecdote could be considered under the topic of luck vs skill, but was shared as one reason I don't play fantasy football anymore.

Why are you suggesting it's more than that?  
The criticisms I get here baffle me most times.  

Why you've consistently done well could be due to any number of reasons.  You could be spending 20% more time on it week to week than other people.  You may check on it more often or have more time to kill or pay attention to the scoring system more carefully.
There's dozens of reasons people do well or don't do well at anything, including fantasy football.


My friend winning with no knowledge of football could have simply been the last straw.  I don't really remember, because it was 100 years ago.

Reminds me of that period of time around 2003-2008 or so, when online poker had become huge and there were dozens of poker shows on TV.  All of a sudden people who'd never heard the words "no limit hold 'em" were recounting their previous evening's winnings with tremendous drama on the flop or the river.  A bunch of instantaneous poker experts, these schmoes were.
